Thanks, Cheyenne, for tagging me!

Once tagged, please tag three other pooches and write why you love them in your diary.

I am tagging Dakota because he is my guru, and he has a great family that we love spending time with.

I am tagging Nuru (all 5 B's) because she is my cousin, and she is sister to the most beautiful tri-girl I know! Hugs and kisses to the 5B's and family.

I am tagging TJ because he and his family are so much fun, and they sent us some delicious goodies (They know how to win me over!) Also, TJ is nice to my kitty sister, Picara.

I have to give an honorable mention to Talker and Savannah for being the host and hostess with the mostess!

I love games! I was tagged by my pals: Stormie, Khola, and Max Mattias.

The Rules
(Hint: Copy and paste the rules so you don't have to type them again):

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their diary the rules and their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

-----------------------------My 7 Pawsome Facts-----------------------------
1. I eat everything. The one and only thing I will turn down is Diet Coke.
2. I am a dog, but I am trained to use a litter box like a cat.
3. My Dad is my favorite person in the whole world.
4. I like to sleep with all four of my paws next to my nose.
5. I am very big for a Basenji. People often ask what I am mixed with.
6. I learned to make a "meow" sound from the cat. It's pretty authentic and fools house guests all the time.
7. My name roughly translates to "rowdy." It suits me.

My list of "Tagged Pups"
1. Flippie
2. Talker
3. Bakari
4. Hollie
5. Miles
6. Mr. Twister
7. Tiki

Birthday 2006

I am getting older now and so I think it may be time to ask for some grown-up type birthday presents.

Here is what I am thinking:

1. Food
2. A squirrel
3. A nice long walk

Ok, I realize that I asked for the exact same things last year but my PRIORITIES have changed. That shows growth.

Also, I would like to take a long road trip around the world to visit all of my Dogster pals. First stop, Texas to see Dakini (and Omari and Paku too). Mom and Dad got a minivan so all the pups could just pile in as we drive from place to place.

On which birthday do I get my driver's license again?

It's MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I didn't get that squirrel. He came down to say happy birthday but I couldn't convince him to come home with me. I did get lots of treats and hugs and everyone sang a silly little song to me. I got to go on a long hike and now I am going to have a nap and dream of the cake I am going to get. I hear there's such thing as a carrot cake; I hope I get that one...I loooove carrots.

Wednesday will be a very special birthday. I am going to be two years old. Keyah's birthday is on Friday, so we are going to have a double birthday with twice the fun. I am hoping for:
#1 - a nice long walk (see? something not food related)
#2 - food
#3 - a squirrel

I already have my squirrel picked out. I can't wait to bring it home!

Sometimes food IS bad...

Well, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it myself. I was getting into the Thanksgiving spirit because, if there's a holiday about centered around food, I'm all for it! I had even temporarily set aside thoughts about what I wanted for my birthday (November 30th...anything edible if you were wondering what to get). Dad was making some of his delcious bread and it is usually my job to try a little bite when it has cooled. So this particular bread had not even gone into the oven, so how much cooler could it get?! I figured it would be best not to ask permission for a bite since I knew the answer would be no, even though all I wanted was a little lick. I sat and waited patiently until I saw my moment...the phone rang and Dad turned to answer it. I went to take a little taste of that dough but it was soooo gooooood I just kept eating it until I got caught. It was only a matter of seconds but I work fast. OOOOhooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooo I sure felt full.

I heard Dad on the phone with Mom and something about ASPCA and poison control center, blah, blah, blah....ohhhh sooo fulllll.

Next thing I know Dad has a spoonful of some hydrogen peroxide for me. Oh boy! I've never had that before! I have my spoonful and Keyah gets one too. It wasn't too bad so am going back for seconds when it hits me....that peroxide is making my tummy do flip flops!

I have to go outside and throw up all of that delicious dough. Keyah throws up her lunch (because I didn't share any dough with her, but they didn't know that).

I am supposed to tell you all of this because my mom says that eating raw dough is really bad for dogs because the yeast can be very dangerous. I'm also supposed to apologize to Keyah because she had to get sick too even though she was innocent, but I'm not going to do that.

So, take it from me, enjoy the holidays and eat responsibly....its better than having to eat that peroxide!

All my Basenji friends are writing poems, so I am going to try my paw at it.

In my bowl at breakfast
I ate it first

Thanks for the 'taterchips!

I went to play with Savannah and Talker and I was told to be on my best behavior. I didn't see what the problem was when I dipped into the chips...all the humans were doing it too! Savannah and Talker didn't go along with it so I looked like a bad boy. I told them, "do whatever I do." But they didn't listen. Something about good manners...whatever that is. I think when someone puts out a nice display of chips its bad manners not to dig in. And how come no one wanted to touch the chips I licked? Talk about not having manners!

At least I have two new best friends! Hi Savannah and Talker!

Seeking scientific definition of "food"

Santa brought the cat, Picara, a nice rubbery ball that made fun sounds when it rolled around on the floor. I had to watch all the fun from the other side of the baby gate which is NOT fair. One day I passed by and that beautiful ball was just on the other side of the gate. I saw my moment and snatched it from between the bars...

It was delicious.

Imagine my joy when my stomach found it disagreeable and forced it back up. I was about it dig in and have a second go of it when it was cruelly snatched from me by my overprotective humans who said "Patan! That isn't to eat!"

So, if I can chew it up and swallow it...what about it makes it NOT food?! I don't see the logic, but thankfully I'm not human.

If you think I'm cute...send food!

To any kind hearted people out there:

I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to send me any extra goodies you may have around the house. Don't get me wrong, I get lots of food at home but for some reason I am not allowed to sample certain things. I'm pretty sure its because they are the best and Mom and Dad don't want to share with me.

Items I would like:
remote controls
spare change
cat poop
pens and pencils
furniture stuffing

Please send all items to:

@ Patan's House
Patan's City, Patan's State

P.S. If you don't have any of the above items, I'll just take a carrot.
