Dear Diary,
Sunday Mommy & Daddy packed up the car and put me in my crate for a road trip. It seemed like it took furever to get to our destination. It took over an hour! Normally I get sick and don’t like to go to strange places but not only did I NOT get sick but when I came out of the car my ears were up and I was ready to pawty. We went to an event called Dog Bowl 2011 in Frankenmuth, MI. I went a couple of years ago and I was shy & scared at first, but not this time.
I did a lot of butt sniffing, checked out all the vendors and barked to Mommy it was time for a new pink collar, so I got a new collar, a new harness and an awesome revisable bandana. The kind that clicks on, not ties on, it fits me perfectly.
Mommy wanted to see how I did at the Doggie dash De Lure Race. Let us just bark that the event did not live up to the imagine in Mommy’s mind. In Mommy’s mind I ran full speed chasing that stuffed toy lure and came in first place with a huge trophy at my side and a 1st place ribbon wrapped around me. Photographers from all over the world would fight to get my picture. The next day my furry face would be plastered all over the cover of every magazine and newspaper around the world. But what really happened is the lure used in the race was a little plastic bag which I had no interest in chasing and instead chased Mommy around the course, sometimes nipping at her ankles and butt. The second time around I was completely bored with chasing Mommy so I took a few pee breaks on the race course and did some sniffing. The battery that control the lure wore out and Mommy and I walked the last half of the course. Mommy’s dreams were shattered.
I didn’t get to do the 25 & 50 yard dash as it was getting to hot and the races were later in the afternoon. Mommy said we would get them next year. It didn’t matter to me, I much rather play in the fountain. It was so cool & refreshing. I could hop on the stone walls and get a section of the fountain that them big dogs couldn’t get to so I had it all to myself. By 2:30 we were all winding down and needed to go eat so we left and went to Culver’s for burgers. I only got a little bit of Mommy’s as she was worried about me getting car sick.
By the time we got home everybody wanted to take a nap, but that only lasted a few minutes as Mother Nature was having another temper tantrum and the tornado sirens kept going off. Daddy stood guard and watched the skies while I tried to keep Mommy calm by having her rub my belly. Daddy said we left the event just in time as they were getting slammed and there was no where to hide from the storm there. We felt so sorry for all the pups & there owners that were still there. The storm soon passed and I drifted into dream land that lasted till the next morning. I was a sleepy Schnoodle.
Well by the pictures I would have to say that it looked like a wonderful time! What a day !!! I love your pictures and wish I was there with you, what a blast we would had ! Woof ! I wish we had an event like that here. Hi Sophie,
