Well there's been lots going on in the house and I saw mom pull out her suitcase. That usually means she goes somewhere and I have to stay home. HMPH! Strangely enough though... weird things started happening!
First we went to a local pet store and she made me stand next to this carrier, ugh.. I HATE carriers. But.. if you have a treat I'll get in. YUM! She bought that carrier, it was pretty nice, the last one I was dying to get out of, but this one I sat in for a long time. Once I'm in I like it, once I'm out - good luck trying to get me back in.
Then it was a visit to the vet's office. I HATE the vet. We got in and I stood by the exit door the entire time. Mom laughed. We got into the room and I stood by that door. Mom laughed again. I didn't even want treats! That's how much I don't like the vets office, okay I ate the treats later when mom hand fed them to me.. but still. Luckily it wasn't too painful, a thermometer reading, a look over, and $100 later mom gets two pieces of pink paper saying I'm healthy. Two VERY expensive pieces of paper. :D
Then came this weird training.. she made me sit in the carrier with it all zipped up! Random. I did get super tasty treats while I was in it though! Real chicken and bacon and a chewie!! We did this twice. She kept packing and I helped by jumping in her suitcase, trying to play with her while she packed, sticking my nose in things to sniff and of course by dumping my toys in them. :)
Well then the big day came, she zipped up her stuff, grabbed the empty carrier and we all hopped into the car. HOW FUN! I was so excited, wondering where we were going! The car stopped and mom got in the backseat.. AKC.. into the carrier I went. Lemme tell ya, the airport has so much to sniff and I couldn't get to one bit of it! I made sure to occasionally turn around in the carrier so I could sniff stuff on the other side too. Mom kept telling me to stop squirming.. whatever that means.
We got to what she calls a security checkpoint.. I'll admit that was scary. I didn't want to come out, she had to pull me by the collar. We walked through something and then she stuffed me back in.. ungracefully I might add! I refused to walk in, so she flipped it up and dropped me in like chips into can! *sigh* She pulled out a treat and I was happy again. We saw another dog at the airport, lucky thing got to sit on his owner's lap for awhile. I was stuck in this carrier.. not that I minded. I took a nap while we waited for the plane.
There were some annoucements, loud noises and mom was moving again. She put me on the floor in this cramped space and next thing I know the ground is rumbling and moving. I could see mom's feet the whole time so I felt safe. The take-off surprised me but after that it was just fine! I napped the whole way there and mom said I was a good boy. hehe.
When we got there we went to her friends house and there was a cat to chase! Things to eat! and Parks to go to!! It was great fun! I did really well on the flight back too and can't wait to go to the next destination! WOO HOO!!
We have winter storms in California right now and Friday was the worst. Mom opened the back door so I had access to the dog door for potty reasons. I went up, sniffed the door, looked at her because she's nuts and walked away.
I mean come on! You want me to do my business out there?! In the RAIN? where it's windy?! No way!!
She had to take me out the front door so I could sniff the porch and then potty near the house in the planters right next to the porch. :D
I also had two accidents, near my doggie door. Please, I'm too cute to be wet and plus, the wind might blow me away!
Mom came home the other night and I greeted her happily at the door with a Styrofoam container in my mouth. She noticed I came from the dining room and that the rest of the family was in the back of the house. Strange....
Well, she took the container away and did the sniff test: left over chinese food, fried rice probably. Oh well, she figured her brother must have left it out after he finished and I got to lick the leftovers.
*GRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN*
The next day she went to work and gets an email from her dad, asking her if she took the leftover fried rice for lunch. She busts out laughing, writes him back and says, "Ask Morgan..."
Honestly, they always set things on that low table next to the front door. Plus that's where my leash and treats and poopie bags are, so naturally I assumed that delectable delight was for me!! Anyway, they now know why I wasn't so hungry the other night. :D
