Arrival Story:
Mom wanted to add another Sheltie to the family. She looked all over for a breeder that fit what she was looking for. Finally, she found my breeder! I was supposed to be a fancy show dog, but my breeder decided I wasn't quite tall enough but I sure had drive to work. She started looking for a performance home for me ... so when mom came along, it was just like fate! Mom and my breeder got along really well and I was exactly what mom was looking for. A few days after our first meeting, my new mom brought me to my new home. The rest is history.

Bio:
I'm quite the character. Mom calls me her "little piggy" because I'm always getting into something messy. I have a number of jobs (ALL Shelties NEED a job!) including CKC obedience, CKC rally-o, CARO rally-o, St. John Ambulance therapy dog, and NAFA flyball. When I'm not working, I love a good game of chase or wrestle with Gio. And I'll never say "no" to a game of fetch in the backyard or at the park!

TAGGED!!

My good buddy, Yippy, tagged me!

Here are the rules to this game-
Give 4 answers to the following 4 questions, and then tag 4 other pups!

So here goes:

Name four jobs that you've had.
1. Toy Rescuer. I am sure to snatch any toy from the deadly grasp of Gio. I'm a hero!
2. Comedic Relief. Whenever things are too calm, too quiet, or too tense, I jump in to save the day with some goofy antic!
3. Garden Inspector. I patrol the garden and promptly dispatch of anything that dares threaten the safety of the plants. Even if it means moving heaps of earth to ensure their safety.
4. Lint Roller. I drag my nose along the ground and pick up all bits of fluff, lint, string, or hair. Gota do my duty to keep this place clean!

Four places you have lived.
1. In British Columbia with my fur momma and my breeder.
2. To Saskatoon but still with my fur momma.
3. In Saskatoon with my current mom and big brother Gio!
4. Haven't lived anywhere else.

Four places where you have been.
1. To Regina, Saskatchewan for flyball tournaments and rally-o seminars.
2. To Battleford, Saskatchewan for a rally-o fun match.
3. I haven't visited anywhere else yet. But I will be going to Lloydminster, Saskatchewan next weekend for a flyball tournament.
4. I will also be going to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in two weeks for a rally-o trial.

Four places you'd rather be.
1. At the training building with all my rally-o or flyball buddies, playing some Bark 'n Chase.
2. On a walk in the park with mom and Gio
3. Curled up on my special bed next to mom's computer desk.
4. Cuddled up with Gio and mom on the couch.

Friends I choose to play tag:

Mathilda
Jasmine

Rally-O

Well tonight I learned what Rally-O is! Gio has been telling me that it is really fun, but I could never really figure it out. Tonight I had my first class. Mom thought I would be a challenge compared to Gio (The Show-Off), but I proved her wrong!! She thought I would be difficult to lure around and maneuver on leash due to my previous training for conformation work. But I caught on really quickly and by the end of class had pretty much figured out the little things she was asking me to do. I'm starting to catch on that she wants me to heel close and look at her instead of heel further out and look straight ahead like I was taught for conformation. I also sorta figured out that "get it" means I need to move to mom's side and sit nice looking straight ahead. I even did better than the cute little poodle that had done Rally-O before! YIPPEE!!

I think I like flyball better, but this is pretty fun, too. And I like being able to work with mom without The Show-Off hogging the spot light! BOL

My First Flyball Lesson!

I just got home from my first flyball lesson and am completely pooped! I fell asleep on the car ride home, woke up briefly to have a tiny dinner than ran to mom's room and fell asleep on the bed BOL

Class was so much fun though :D I got to meet lots of other dogs, and most of them were even close to my age and size! Then mom and I worked on some directional stuff and she introduced me to a jump. By the end of class I was doing AWESOME and she was even able to send me away to do a jump a few times ... Just a few feet and I was still on leash, but I thought I did pretty good anyways!

At home, I always play with a regular sized tennis ball. I LOVE TENNIS BALLS and will fetch and fetch and fetch for ages! But tonight mom let me play with a little tiny tennis ball. I didn't know what to do with it at first ... it smelled like a tennis ball, and was the same texture as a tennis ball but it was so much smaller! But mom tossed it around a little bit and I finally caught on. WATCH OUT! I'm all over that tiny ball now! I was even able to catch it in my mouth a few times, something I have never been able to do with a regular sized ball. Mom brought the tiny ball home and we are going to practice catching and set up a few low jumps in the back yard to work on my jumps, too.

PHEW! That was hard work ... but I think I'm going to like this game!
