~Potty Training~

We got Cody Bear two weeks and one day ago. His potty training has been a test for my husband's and my patience. I've never potty trained a puppy before. It's almost harder than trying to potty train my three year old.

In the first week there were lots of accidents, especially @ night. The first two nights were really stressful. We tried keeping him in a kennel at night in our living room. But I was only able to tolerate two hours of his howling and yiping. I ended up sleeping with Cody on my chest on the couch in my living room. (I'm the only light sleeper in my house hold.) He would then whine when he had to potty. After a few nights on the couch, my husband got mad that I wasn't sleeping in our bed. So Cody started to sleep with us in our bed. Our bed is really high of the ground so I figured that he would yipe or whine when he had to potty. WRONG!!!!! He would quietly jump off the bed and potty on my floor. That ticked my husband off big time. So I started putting piddle pads near both doors in my room, for just in case he did it again. That helped. He used the piddle pads.

Last night he had to go potty alot because he got his second set of shots and de-wormer. So he had the case of the urgent runs. :( he would lightly whine in my ear. I took him potty four times in the night (about every two hours or so) I didn't mind. He was being a good puppy. When I finally got to sleep peacefully, our alarm went off. (For someone whom just had surgery four days ago, I sure don't get to sleep much) I had to get my daughter up for school and make her her lunch for her field trip today. My three year old Eddie usuall y sleeps until 8.30am. - 9am. but not this morning, he woke up at 6.45am. and he never went back to sleep. :( I am so tired, I'm in pain, I'm cranky. What do I do???? DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS TO HELP ME???? I'M OPEN TO TRY ANYTHING. It's not my puppies fault. I just haven't been sleep deprived for almost four years. My body isn't used to it anymore.

Cody loves to sleep with us and so do we. Maybe his nightly pottying routine will change as he gets older. I'm going to think positively here.

Thanks ya'll. Till next time. Loves Loves. :) :) :) :)
