Arrival Story: Mama and Dad went to a rescue in Reno to look at another girl bulldog, but she was too aggressive and tried to attack Gus. However, Gus and I met and hit it right off. I hava hip displacia like Gus, but not quite as severe; so I have special needs. Gus and I are about the same size and neither one of us will get any bigger. I am just a happy go lucky and love to be loved and give kisses to everyone.
Bio: Member of Mom's "Animals are for FUN!" club.
I like to mother everyone and play a lot.
Last week was my third birthday and I wasn't tortured by being dressed up in any weird costumes or funny pictures. Whew! However, Mama and Dad did torture me in another way. Gus and I had to have our weekly ear cleaning. It was awful but our ears get so dirty that Mama and Dad have to be vigilant about keep them clean just like our wrinkles, but we don't mind our wrinkles being cleaned.
After our ears were cleaned we got a nice birthday treat. We got our peanut butter frosted bones, but Mama says that one year she will get us actual cakes made just for us. I can't wait, but until them I love our frosted bones quite well.
Other news, we moved. We have a really big home now and there are stairs. I get quite a workout following Mama around. She goes up and down those stairs a lot during the day. At bedtime, Dad or Mama have to carry Gus up because he can't do it on his own with his hip and leg. I still keep a close eye on her since she was really sick, but she has been doing really well. I love my Mama. In addition to the house we have a bit back yard with so much grass. Gus and I don't miss that tiny little patch at our old home. I have found that I like popsicles. Mama has sugar free popsicles and cream sicles. She gives me the last bit when she has them. Gus and I love vanilla ice cream but we don't get to have that very often. Gus doesn't like the popsicles, though. When we moved in, Mama took me for a walk around the neighborhood, but I didn't meet any dogs, but we know they are out there, because we hear them all the time.
I have to be extra protective of Mama and Gus for awhile. Dad is gone for work for about 6 weeks. I miss him already and so does Gus, but Mama will let us sleep on the bed a lot while he is gone. It is so comfy. If we are not on the bed, I have found a place under the bed that is between the drawers on each side to crawl under and sleep, or I sleep on our our bed at the end of Dad and Mama's bed, or on the blanket by the closet that just appeared the other day. Gus stays at the base of the bed on Mama's side if not on the bed. If he is on the bed, he is usually cuddled up to Mama.
