Birthday:
October 25th 1992

Likes:
Sitting in his Durabed and gazing out the window.

Pet-Peeves:
Puppies

Favorite Toy:
Pressed rawhide bone

Favorite Food:
ALL food. He eats Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Fish for meals and attempts to steal whatever else he can get. Cat poop is a special favorite.

Favorite Walk:
Leisurely stroll around the backyard when he is the only one out there.

Best Tricks:
The "fake sit" where he pretends he is sitting to earn his food bowl

Arrival Story:
I bought him from a backyard breeder back when I was in college. My roommate was a vet tech and knew a long-haired Dachshund from work and thought that he would be the perfect apartment dog for us. This was not true, as we lived on the 3rd floor and he needed to be carried in and out until we could get a ground floor apartment. It was an impulse decision, and all about me, not about what would be best for Jack. But he hung in there and has been my loyal and faithful companion ever since.

Bio:
Jack has two cat friends that have been with him since he was one. He has tolerated a virtual parade of foster dogs over the years, but none that he likes as much as his people and his cats.

I wanted to let everyone who knew my faithful companion, Jack, know that he died on Tuesday afternoon (November 27, 2007) at the age of 15. Jack had been with me since before I knew Jason or had Ben... before I graduated from college, before I became a nurse, before I moved to Texas. He was perhaps my oldest friend, and certainly had stood by me through the many joys and challenges of my life like only a beloved pet can. He will be very missed by our family.
