What's it all about, Alfie?

How to live like a rock star!

This past weekend I travelled to visit Niagara on the Lake with my folks. We flew from Ottawa to Toronto, and then rented a car to drive down to the Niagara region. Because I am such a little guy I got to go in the cabin in a carrier which fit under the seat. It was scary, but exciting at the same time! I just curled up in my carrier and rested, saving my energy for the fun-filled days ahead. The flight attendants on WestJet Airlines were very nice and stopped by several times during the short flight to ask my folks how I was doing. The airport in Toronto was very busy, so I was very glad when we got out of there with our rental car and were on our way.
On our first day we visited Niagara on the Lake. It is very pretty there, and we went to many nice parks, including Queen's Royal Park, which gives you a view of Fort Niagara State Park. We also walked along the streets of the town and visited some of the nice shops there.
On our second day we checked out St. Catharines, including a nice walk in Burgoyne Woods Park. That night my folks attended a wedding of some good friends at the lovely Hernder Estates Winery. I had to stay at the hotel in my crate, but Mom was worried about me so after the ceremony & dinner she drove back to get me. Good thing, because I had been trying to escape from my crate and I was so upset that I had vomited in there too. So, in the car we went back to the wedding! Mom, Dad and I sat outside on the beautiful patio at the winery, and a very nice lady brought me water in a fancy dish! It was fun to watch all the people dancing inside, through the glass doors. Thank you Kriss & Rick for letting me come to your wedding - it was a very special evening.
On our last day we went to Port Dalhousie Harbour, which was a nice spot to visit. I can't believe how big Lake Ontario is! There is a really neat carousel there that was hand carved between 1898 and 1905. We strolled around the Harbour Walkway and I got to meet a fun Boxer pup named Kaiser and his family. After our walk we headed back to Toronto airport and caught our flight home.
It was a great adventure and a lot of fun, but I was one tired pup when we got home. I felt a bit like a rock star while we were away, because so many people came up to meet me, and I had several strangers kiss me on the head and tell me that I am a handsome boy!!! I am really a shy guy so I was a bit uncomfortable being "mobbed" everywhere we went. Now I know how the Beatles felt, BOL!
