my first year

April 6th, 2007

Nanny and I had such fun the last 2 days. We were gone most of the time and I got to go in a bunch of stores and saw a bunch of people, or to me, it seemed like a bunch.
Thursday we only went to dollar general and got some cleaning supplies and so many people came up to me and petted me and said I was so pretty, I could tell it made nanny proud of me and I was a good girl for her. Then we went to the bank and then to kfc and got some good ole chicken since nanny loves to have that for a snack we we go places sometimes and she even gives me a few bites of the white mean, it was good too.
Then we went to the feed store to get some cat fish food for the fish, ya know, they have to eat too and I thought they only got to eat worms and bugs and such. There were several people there too and nanny was so proud of showing me off in my new harness shirt with the big yellow sun flowers on it. Then we came home and I was tired and slept in my car seat most of the way home.
But yesterday when we went out, our first stop wasnt too much fun. It was that dreaded vet visit. Dr Moring and his staff are really nice people and he did what he needed to do to me then we left. And wow, then we actually went to the big jewelry store ( nanny called first to see if I could come in and they let me) and its so pretty inside. everything is so shiny and sparkly. Nanny had have some rings resized so maybe I can go back with her to pick them up. There was a little girl there and she was so cute, I was scared nanny might swap me to her parents for her, but nah, I really didnt believe that for a minute. But the little girl wanted a dog like me, so maybe she will soon get one.
Then we went to the pet store and got ME some food and some toys and treats and nanny said she over spent there because she had to get something for a GE thingy on yorkie talk. whatever the GE means. Anyway, it was a big day for me and there were a few kids in there to and one little girl was so sweet and she was little, closer to the floor like me and she petted me and it made me happy. Nanny said she might have been 4 yrs old. so I am actually older than her even tho i'm just 10 months old. Then we came home and nanny let me have a couple of treats and I was tired again and I didnt even play with my new toy right then, but I was ready to go out and play but its been so cold again nanny wont let me out for long. So last night I snuggled in bed with her and papa and I was warm and cozy for the long night. whew, I didnt realize fun could make ya tired till now, but it sure did me. Nanny let me wear my reversible harness dress yesterday that kizzy and penny sent me. I got so many compliments on how cute I looked in it. There was Nanny, smiling and thanking everyone for the compliments and I was happy because I had fun and I think I made nanny happy again because she seems so proud of me. I try to be a good girl for nanny cause she and papa are so good to me. But she still thinks about kizzy and we miss her.
hugs to kizzy if she reads this. we still love you girl. she looked so pretty in her last picture her new mommy posted at yt in her red bow. Aww nanny said kizzy has always been pretty.
I have to go now, but wanted everyone to know we really had so much fun this week.

I am late entering this.
But last week end March 9th was my papas birthday, it was on Friday so we celebrated it on Saturday 10th . He had a big beautiful cake that looked so yummy and ice cream, umm, it was good. Nanny cooked a bunch of talapia fish, a bunch of shrimp, lots of baked potatoes and made cole slaw and hush puppies. That was a lots because she had to feed 14 people. It was kind of a surprise for papa. He found out the day before that she was doing it finally. I couldnt wait to bark happy birthday to him.
nanny is really my mom and papa is my dad but I call them nanny and papa because their 2 grand children Holly and Cody call them that.
So we had a big house full of company . There was 2 more dogs. Holly and Cody , brought their schnauzer named Max. Nannys brother brought sassy too, that is their yorkie. I got scared of Max. He is younger than me and sassy but he is bigger and he is hyper. He had just had surgery but you sure couldnt tell it. It didnt slow him down one bit.
Holly thought he would be sore and want to lay in his crate most of the time, but boy he didnt like that. I was pretty scared so I pretty much stayed in the house with nanny and papa, but I wanted to be close to papa on his birthday.
We had a good time. It was a beautiful day and some people went to our lake and fished a while. I don't know if they caught any or not but they had fun and thats what counted. It was a great day but we were tired that night, especially Nanny after cooking all that food for everyone. Papa got some gifts but i'm not sure what they all were. It wasnt a present party nanny said, it was a presence party. Just mainly to be together with family and have fun and do something special for papa. He is always doing special things here and he loves us lots and lots. I have a good home and I know I am loved a bunch. Whats better than spending the day with the people you love most and having a good time even if theres nothing to celebrate but papas birthday was a special celebration cause he just turned ... oops. nanny said stop here. bye bye

storm day

we had bad storm warnings here Thursday so Nanny took me to my aunts who has a big storm shelter. my other aunt and uncle and their spouses came too. It didnt ever get bad enough for us to have to go to the shelter which is just behind her house so we played in the house. there was 4 other dogs in the house and we had fun. We were good girls and boys but I was the smallest and I was just a tiny bit scared but I tried not to show it. But I did stay close to my nanny. They all had made sandwich and chip stuff in case the power went out but it didnt and there was all kinds of goodies and I got to have little bite of a lot of different things.
Nanny said we were lucky we didnt have any tornadoes here but she was sad because there were several kids killed in other places and got their big school all tore up and now their having a hard time, its so sad with their proms and graduations times almost here. my nanny cried for them. she was almost in that f5 tornado in 1998 before I was born. there was 2 houses up from her that werent hit, the rest of the town looked like a war zone she said. but they did not get any damage and she said they were so blessed that time and maybe someone was watching over them. I hope nobody from here got hurt and everyone is safe and healthy. It was a scary bad day.
