Well, new sister has arrived and been here for about 3 weeks now. We have decided to name her Kiwi, because she's little and brown just like a kiwi fruit. She's great but much different from me. She's a little more nervous and has separation anxiety so she barks when locked up in the bathroom and this gives me a headache. We sure do love her though.
I've also been working on new tricks! My mom taught me how to do 4 tricks (shake, down, crawl, and roll over) in 30 minutes the other night. Then the next day she taught me how to walk on my hind legs and dance too! She says I'm really brilliant which may be true but the real truth is that I just want the BEEF JERKEY!!!! GIMME GIMME GIMME!
So I no longer refuse to walk on a leash, in fact I'm quite good at it. I learned when my mom got me a harness and we went to the San Diego Brussels Griffon meetup and saw all the other dogs walking on a leash, I just followed them! BTW those SD BGs are super cool and we love meeting up with them. Little sister Kiwi even got to go to the last one.
I've decided to start a new group called "Southern California Brussels Griffon Society" to meet other Griffies in So Cal and we hope our group can represent Brussels Griffons at next years Orange County Pet Expo! We think that would be really cool and hope others want to join us!

Well, let's just say things have taken a turn for the worse! My "cool" family is trying to make me walk on a leash. I will have none of that! My mom to me for a 10 minute "drag" around the house today thinking I would eventually give in, but even with coaxing with treats they are still at square one. When daddy got home he even tried to get me to do it but I just planted my butt on the ground and my front paws too. Those "clowns" are so funny thinking that I would walk on a leash. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!

UN-Gardening

Yesterday I helped my mommy UN-Garden. That's where she plants the plants and I take them out of the ground. Mommy didn't think it was funny because I kept getting yelled at and dirt clods thrown at me (but I thought it was funny!!!) Mommy was so aggrivated she made Aunt Gina come out and get me. I took a nap on her bed with her. Later Uncle Gary came over and we went to the dog park (WEE!!). Uncle Gary is so funny, he was afraid of all the little dogs there. Not me though, I ran up to all the dogs. Mommy said that I don't know what growling means, but I do cuz Pandora growls at me all the time and that means she likes the game we're playing. One of the dogs got a little too playful with me and wouldn't let me get up. Mommy was upset but I liked that game and kept going back for more. Uncle Gary was afraid for me (and himself too for that matter) because I'm so little (3lbs now). I had lots of fun today and am going to sleep all night!! Tomorrow, Daddy is going to take me to Petsmart to buy more food (and outfits!) and I'll see if he wants me to finish my UN-Gardening for Mommy while she's at work.

Freezing Bike Ride

Since my parents are Californians they like to keep active. Today my mom put me in the basket of her beach cruiser and rode me down to the Golden Spoon yogurt shop. By the time I got there I was shivering, it was so cold, and my mom and dad ate frozen yogurt (those goons). Someone lied to me and said Southern California is sunny and warm all year round, plus it rained and my backyard makes my paws muddy. Isn't there a song called "It Never Rains in Southern California?" All is well though because my mom wrapped me up in my pink blanket and held me tight. She said next time if it wasn't too cold I could have some yogurt, YUM!

I'm Home!!!

I arrived in my new home Wednesday February 21. I have retired from the cold winters of Nebraska and moved on to my "furever" home in sunny Southern California. The trip was rough for me, I was on a flight from Kansas City to Dallas, then on to Orange County. Luckily my mom and Auntie Gina were there right after I landed. I was so sleepy and hypoglycemic from my trip I could hardly focus my eyes. My mom and aunt are nurses and were smart enough to bring some Nutristat to the airport and gave it to me soon after meeting me. I perked up pretty well and by the time I got to the car I was ready to get to know Aunt Gina as Mom drove us home. We stopped at PetSmart for some supplies and everyone comment on how cute I was. My aunt kept saying she was going to bite my head off and barbeque me because I was TOO cute and shouldn't be allowed to live...I know she was just kidding though because she said she's never used so much baby talk in her whole life.
When I got to my new home I got to meet my new dad. I really liked him a lot and he likes me a lot too. I get really excited when he takes me to the back yard to play. I didn't know I was part of a zoo. There are 3 cats who live in my house; Pandora, Jeffrey, and Smashy. There's also 2 birds, and 2 snakes. My mom says she can now charge admission.
Yesterday I went to the vet because my mom noticed I was coughing and sneezing a lot. The vet said I had a form of kennel cough but only upper respiratory so I should be OK after my antibiotics. Otherwise I am in tip-top shape and the vet said I was really cute and had a really good personality because I let him examine me without putting up a fuss. I was feeling better after my first dose of antibiotic and decided to unleash about 20 minutes of ferocious barking at Smashy because he has been ignoring me since I got here. My mom thought it was really funny. Smashy smacked me once or twice but that didn't stop me!!!
I am so happy to be here, there's so much fun to be had all the time with my new family and friends. I know they will spoil me rotton!
