Christmas Gift

Today I received a very special Christmas gift, one that will continue to give throughout the year and for years to come. You see, today my very special furiends RaJa and PC made a donation to Katann Chow Rescue in my name. It warms this angel girl's heart so much to know that not only am I still remembered but also that the donation will help other Chow Chows in need to find their furever homes. This holiday, I wish ALL pups had a warm and safe place to call home.

Chow Chow Rescue Charity Quilt auction

Ornaments!

OMD, look at my lovely ornament. Mom loved Dragon's ornament so much that she asked the very talented artist, Lynne, to paint ornaments for the entire family. Angels included!! Me, Bruno, and Sandi are all getting custom painted ornaments, too. It's a tradition in our house to place the ornaments of the angels up at the top of the tree near the angel tree topper. This is my second year up there but it is the first year my brother Bruno joined us. Mom still misses us so very much, but this will be one more way to always keep us close at heart. It's my birthday

Today is my birthday and my second here at the rainbow bridge. I wish my mom wasn't so sad but I know she still misses me. She lit a candle for me today in memory of the life we shared.

My little buddy Raja tagged me so here I go -


Here's seven things that you might (or not) like to know about me:

1. I loved my family but getting brushed wasn't my favorite thing to have done.

2. Mom says that the older I got the sweeter I had become. I know you miss me mom but don't worry, I watch over you.

3. Once, a long time ago, mom was driving the boys home from karate class when she saw a beautiful Chow and said, "Awwwww, it's a TaTa baby." Then she looked up and saw it was daddy at the other end of the leash and it was indeed her TaTa baby! :) This was miles from home, back when I was young and could do that sort of thing, but she never imagined it was really me. They stopped and drove us home.

4. I was kind of a picky eater and I wouldn't touch anything with banana in it.

5. I made a funny noise when I was excited. Mom said it sounded like an orangutan. It made my family laugh

6. I would always wait by the door for my family to come home. You could always count on me to be the first to greet you at the door.

7. I will celebrating my 2nd birthday in heaven on the 13th of this month. I would've been 15 years old on earth.

Missing you so very much

Tara, you are still missed so very much. Though a year has passed, it seems like only yesterday that you were by my side. My heart still aches but I know there will come a day when we will meet again.

Remembering Tara (A year later)

Today marks one full year since you left us Tara, and for the family it seems like just yesterday. This morning I lit a memorial candle in your honor and will celebrate the life we shared, not the love we lost. Blessed were we to have had you come in to our lives for almost 14 years. You lived every day and greeted every morning with the wag of a tail. We love you and miss you, but we are also grateful for the time we shared. I wrote a poem for you this morning, mind you it is not very good but I just wanted to show you in my own special way how much you meant to us all.

Remembering Tara

A year has passed since we said goodbye,
So many times I just sat and cried.
Longing for the times we shared
Hoping you knew how much we cared.
Five times you had to move with us,
You never complained or put up a fuss.
You seemed to take it all in stride,
We loved you for your determination and pride.
A year has passed, this much is true,
But our love is here in spirit with you.

My balloon

As much as my family would like to forget it, the one year anniversary since I left is fast approaching. Mom says this has been a very difficult time for her. When she was shopping today she passed by the mylar balloons and decided to buy me one. It simply says Thinking Of You, which she has been doing non-stop.

I was blessed with a loving caring home for almost 14 years and will patiently wait until the day we are reunited again. For now, it is just a blessing to know I am still loved.
