Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: February 9th 2005
Likes: Hanging out with human and canine friends & herding sheep

Pet-Peeves: Why aren't there sheep in Dorchester anymore?

Favorite Toy: Plush duck that quacks

Favorite Food: liver chips

Favorite Walk: anywhere near the water's edge

Best Tricks: In order to obtain a toy that Vesta hogged, Nyx ran to the door and barked as if there was a visitor, thereby causing Vesta to drop the toy and run to door. Then Nyx strolled over and played with the abandoned toy.

Arrival Story: A classic case of "puppy fever" combined with the desire to have a more biddable dog to herd sheep led us to adopt Nyx. She was actually promised to someone else, a co-owner of the sire, but since he was going through a divorce and couldn't raise a puppy, Nyx joined our family.

Bio: Nyx was a male pseudohermaphrodite that had to be neutered/spayed. Sadly, she struggled to control cluster seizures that began in September 2006, had several good seizure-free months early in the summer, but then simply couldn't win the fight and had to be put to sleep on August 15, 2007. We miss her deeply.

Forums Motto: Nyx - Where are the sheep?

Best Friend: Vesta. When Vesta went blind in May 2007, Nyx was happy to help V continue to obsessively retrieve thrown balls and toys by finding and dropping them repeatedly in front of V until V found them and could return them to their human to throw again.

Thanks, everyone, for all of your support.
I feel even worse, so we're going to the vet today.
Mom is crying a lot, but tells me that soon I'll be
able to frolic, splash in the water, eat sheep poop,
and do whatever makes me happy without feeling
sick anymore.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge someday....
Kisses and tail wags,
Nyx

I've lost count, but I think that I've had seven seizures since Sunday. Mom and Vesta (and I) are really worried. I'm not recovering fully. Mom says this seems like a continuous cluster during 3+ days. Help!

Last week, I had cluster seizures two days in a row. It was weird because I felt weird for two days afterward instead of recovering and feeling like my normal self within an hour or two afterward. My owner got very worried, spoke to my neurologist, and now I am trying one last medication, zonisamide. It made me feel really unsteady on my feet, so fortunately this week they dropped the dose a few days ago and I'm wobbling less.
I fetch most of the balls nowadays. I'm worried about Vesta, who is going blind from PRA, but we still enjoy racing around the field together.
