I will be 15 on Saturday, the 4th of July! WooHoo!
Mama bought the peanut butter chip flavor cupcake mix from Petit Four Legs bakery and made them last evening so she could take some to work and share them with all her co-workers with pups. They are so luscious with a white yogurt icing topped with a pink yogurt bone! They look and smell so delicious mama wanted to eat them for herself--which she could, because they are human grade ingredients--but she didn't because they are for me and my friends!
I wanted to share my cupcakes with Teddy, Elliot, Olive, Riley, Macy and the 3 pups that belong to Joyce at the switchboard. Joyce is so nice! When I was recuperating from my surgery 12 years ago she sent me a get well basket filled with dog treats! I have loved her since--BOL!
This afternoon mama carried me down to Megan and Mandy's house. Mandy also has a birthday on Saturday, she will be 8 years old. We took 6 cupcakes down to them so they could celebrate Mandy's (and my birthday) while they are at camp this weekend. Their dog-cousins will be there too, so it will be a really party! I still have to get some cupcakes to my friends Max, Bridget and Cricket. I wonder if their cat sister, Pandora would like a cupcake?

I just got back an hour ago from an appointment with Dr. Lewis. She wanted to check on my eyes after having drops for a week in both and ointment in my left eye. Mama had her check on my cysts, too.
Our appointment was for 7:15 pm and we barely made it there on time. While we were in the waiting area with two retrievers and a kitty, a vehicle pulled in and the guy came running in saying that his dog was having a seizure. The woman behind the counter ran to get a vet tech and daddy ran out to check on the pup. By this time they moved the pup from the vehicle to the ground. The pup was an 11 year old Lab who had never had a seizure before. He was foaming and his head was rolling. Daddy said it was scary.
The tech arrived and she held the pup's head and daddy had his body. Daddy picked him up and carried him to one of the rooms. By this time, the pup was doing much better. The tech told him after they stabilized him he could come back and see his dog. Daddy said, "He's not my dog--I was just helping. I'll tell the owner." The pup's name was Dakota and they observed him for an hour and then he went home.
I didn't get in to see Dr. Lewis until 8:45 pm because the adult Retriever named Bailey and and pup Retriever named Dexter were before me. Dr. Lewis was pleased with my eyes but wants me to continue using the drops and the ointment until she sees me again in a month. She did tell mama that the Trilostane is working well and she is pleased. She's not looking for miracles, but thinks that my fur should start to grow back.
Mama suggested that perhaps that I needed to go back on antibiotics because of my cyst on my shoulder. It has become inflamed again and when mama and daddy were out Saturday it had bled a lot. I had dried blood matted to my right leg and my pillow was soaked. Dr. Lewis agreed that another round of antibiotics is needed.
After never having to use meds before I am suddenly on 4 different types! I have to have eye drops in both eyes 2 times a day. Ointment in my left eye 2 times a day. I have to take 1 Triolostane once a day and antibiotics for 2 weeks. All in all I cooperate pretty well in taking these medications. I really like the chicken pill pockets!
My birthday is on Saturday and I will be 15, so I think that I am doing very well!
Thanks for the positive thoughts everyone.

Today was Take Your Dog to Work Day, so I got to go to work with mama while daddy stayed home to wait for the window guys to put new windows in our house. Mama thought it would be better if I weren't home for daddy to worry about.
So mama loaded all my belongings into her car...my red wagon, my water and food dish, my dog bed, 3 blankies, belly bands, dry food and moist food and my eye ointment. Anything else?
We arrived at work at 6:30 am and mama unloaded everything while I slept on the passengers seat next to her. After she set up my wagon she woke me and carried me in to the building. I started off by just resting in the wagon for a few hours.
When other people started showing up they all made a fuss over me! They remembered me from when I was a lot younger. Mama used to take me to work a lot and she would leave me in the infirmary and the sister in charge with dog-sit me. I'd mostly look for food from all the sisters, but I knew which ones weren't keen on me and I'd wouldn't go into their rooms.
Today was different. I didn't get to roam the infirmary because I can't get around without assistance. So I spent most of the time in mama's office behind her desk either in my wagon or on the floor. Sometimes I was awake, but I slept a lot.
After lunch mama took me over to the convent to visit with SMB and SML! SMB gave me some animal crackers! I remember when I was little she would give me lots and lots of snausages and jelly beans! I love SMB.
As happy as they were to see me, they were sad, too. They said I was such a handsome guy and they didn't want to see me get older. When mama was out of her office and I was on the floor eating, SS came in and was talking to me. She petted me. As she was talking to me she began to cry because she knows I can't live another 15 years. I tried to tell her that it is okay because I have lived a wonderful, fulfilling life and couldn't have asked for a better mama and daddy and friends.
Even though I slept most of the day, I was beat when I got home. I slept all evening, too.
I hope everypup who had the opportunity to go to work with their mom or dad today had as good of a day as I did!
Oh, and the new windows in the house look great!
