Snuggling next to Mommy, sleeping and meeting new people. I adore kids! I also love to travel in Mommy's car and stay in hotel rooms. I love chewing on rawhides, bones, or ears. Backpacking is pawsome!

Pet-Peeves:
CAMERAS! I hate having my nails cut and hate baths. I don't like the rain either. Hot and humid days. Mimi can get too bossy. Popping balloons, fireworks, and bass drums.

Favorite Toy:
I never learned how to play from my previous owner. I prefer to chew on flavored rawhides. I also love to chew on flavored cow or pigs' ears.

Favorite Food:
TOSTITOS!!!! I also love left over creal milk, cheese (any flavor, in curd, dip, solid, etc.), and Dairy Queen ice cream. I also love Blue Dog Bakery cookies.

Favorite Walk:
I like walking around town, in St. Michaels, or at the Farmer's Market. Now we're doing backpacking at Adkins Arboretum, which rocks!

Best Tricks:
I just don't get the trick thing. Why do it when I can show my love to you by wagging my tail and licking your face?

Arrival Story:
Mommy had my sister Mimi for about year and thought she needed another dog with a different personality. I'm pretty laid back compared to Mimi. I had been dropped off at the pound by people who had a bunch of dogs and cats they no longer wanted. I was thin and was beat up by the other dogs. I also wasn't potty trained because I wasn't allowed in the house. Later Mommy found out that I had been shot while in my previous owner's care and they did nothing about it! When I met Mommy, I was so nervous I went belly up and peed on the floor. But Mommy saw what a loving dog I was and adopted me. At first, my sister Mimi and I didn't get along, but she has taught me how to behave inside the house and helped me with the potty training!

Bio:
I love to meet people and I am so cute that I will make you fall in love with me! I have a brown and a blue eye, a big smile, and huge waggy tail, so you can't resist me! I know how to work a crowd too!

Ruined Dinner Plans

Oh, that Mama of mine!! I rarely get mad at her, but today I did!! She ruined perfectly good dinner plans for all of us. I know Mimi would agree with me on this!

We were taking our usual walkie down the road, which bisects a farmer's field on one side and a forest on the other.

As we were approaching the field, Mimi perked up and saw a movement in the tall grass. I picked it up a mili-second later and started whining softly. Then, two large adult female deer jumped out of the grass on to the road! Mimi reared up like a bucking bronco and I cried louder, wagging my tail madly. The deer ran across the road and jumped into the forest.

We immediately pulled forward and demanded to investigate the incident. So, we pulled Mom forward and we saw the smooshed grass where the deer were laying. We then pulled Mom across the street to the forest. Naturally, we wanted to be let loose to track the deer, but Mom refused.

I started crying and Mimi argued with Mom, but it was not working. Mimi told Mom that we could surely catch these two large deer and bring them home for supper. It would be beneficial to all of us. Mimi reminded Mom that in this time of economic crisis, this would be free food for us all. What a money saver this would be!!

But, no good. Mom turned us around and we went home. I cried nearly the whole way, with Mom rolling her eyes.

Doggie Bandits!!

Yup, that's what we're being called! We had a fantastic day today and made out like bandits!!

First, we got up early and drove with Mom over to the school she works at. They were having a yard sale to support the Athletic Boosters. Mom bought a few little things, which were not very interesting for dogs. But, there were plenty of people and kids for me to smooch! I got lots of pets and hugs! O, Happy Day!

Then, the bad part. When were in to see Dr. Steve earlier in the week, we got our tests and shots. However, they ran out of the Kennel Cough vaccination. Think we would get off scott free??? NOPE!! Mom took us right in and we got that nasty shot up the schnoz! I was pretty good, but the Empress put up a nasty fuss. We both beat it out of the office as fast as we could!

The day got much better though! We headed to a local pet store called Gabby's Pet Depot. They had a play day with doggie games and lots of prizes. I easily won the popcorn eating contest and got a great goodie bag! We hung out with other vendors, pups, and the staff people at the pet store. We were there for a long time because Mom was waiting for the drawing.

Mom bought a few tickets for the drawing. She was hoping for a prize. One of the prizes she wanted for us was a huge basket of Merrick rawhides and chewies. The prize that she really wanted the most was a 3 pack box of Frontline Plus. Money is kinda tight right now with all of Mimi's recent medicines and tests, so if we won the Frontline Plus, it would really help Mom out a lot.

So, we sat and waited. And waited some more and more. Finally, we were the last ones there and they had the drawing. The vet on staff drew the tickets. The first drawing was for the Merrick basket and WE WON!!!! Mom was so happy for us and our tails were wagging for that lovely basket of chewies! The next drawing was for the Frontline Plus. The vet drew the ticket and smiled at us. Mom started jumping up and down and wooing!!! We looked at her like she was a nutcase.

So, off we went with all of our goodies and the staff at the pet store saying "Look at those doggie bandits! They really made out good!" But, it was also said that it was well deserved since we were such sweet and well behaved pups.

Yes, we will sleep well tonight. All of us.

It's Been Like This.....

I apologize on behalf of my whole family for not posting much. We've missed you all!

Mom's been struggling with getting over a sinus infection. She has a cough that's been keeping her up nights.

Then, the Empress decided to get mad at Mom for not taking us for walkies because she's been sick. She, in her infinite wisdom, decided to eat a doggie bag.

The next day, Mom came home from work to find Mimi covered in poo, along with her crate. She took the Empress outside for a bath and was her usual uncooperative self when bathed. Then she dragged the huge crate outside to clean and disinfect it.

Yesterday, Mom had a meeting yesterday to receive an award for some work she did in school. Again, she came home to a stinky, messy Mimi with bloody stools. Her crate wasn't as messy this time, but Mom had to clean it out again.

So Mom put Mimi on a fast last night. Between being woken up from coughing, she took Mimi out several times during the night to potty.

When she was driving home today, she prayed that God would heal her. Her prayers were answered!

She came home to a smiling Mimi! Mimi had no bathroom accidents and the crate was clean!

Mom's making some pumpkin and rice for Mimi to help calm her bowls, but I'm getting some too! It was pretty wonderful, we devoured it in no time!

I don't want Mimi and Mom to be sick anymore, hopefully both of them will get better soon.
