Arrival Story: I heard about Phoebe on a basenji rescue list as her owners had dropped her at a pound (we believe when they found out she had Fanconi). We picked her up from the nice man who rescued her from the pound and had her at our house for a week, we had volunteered to drive her to Chicago to a woman who was going to foster her. Well when we handed her off we cried as we had become attached already. The woman was going to keep her, but Phoebe did not get along with her female basenji, So that woman put her in the the BRAT www.basenjirescue.org system.
I'm a BRAT coordinator and when the woman could no longer keep her I offered to foster Phoebe again. It came time to change her write up for the BRAT web page and I could not bring myself to do it, we both loved her so much and she fits in SO well with out pack we had to adopt her!! Well last night my stupid sister Sukeena bit my foot and hurted me!!!!!
I was trying to jump over her to get to mommy's side and stupid was lying in mommy's lap and I accidentally stepped on her and she bit me and now I have a big gash and a few holes in my little foot!!
Mommy did a real good job cleaning it up and I was nice and left the really loose bandage on all night so mommy would be happy. Then this morning she took it off and said it looks really good, but she still won't let me lick it and insists that that stuff in the tube will heal it better than my licks.... I disagree but mommy won't listen and keeps spraying my with a water bottle when I try to lick it. *sigh*
