Birthdays left and right!

Yesterday was my cat pal Riley's birthday. He has the cutest cat bed and the biggest family I have ever encountered! Okay, maybe not, but there's more than this one, that's for sure.

Today is Mom's birthday! August 2nd! She can't believe it and I don't think I really do either.

My fur just can't catch a break.

Last year, my fur was shaved off in my shoulder area TWICE. TWICE! It is still growing back to this day. Well, today I was shaved again at the vet! It was on my back, but is much smaller.

My poor fur.

Why the new name?

Sigh. I am no longer a strict Papillon. I am no longer simply the "runt" Papillion. I am part Chihuahua. Mom is having trouble coming to terms with this. Not that Chihuahua's aren't adorable and loving, sweet, caring dogs, but Mom never envisioned me as one of them. They were all so, um, un-hairy.

But last night, it changed. My true idenity was revealed as a mix. I'm Papuahua. Or a Chihuillon. So I am undergoing an idenity crisis. Mom doesn't know what else I am. Someone said I have the Pom face.

Mom Wikipedia'd Chihuahua and it fit me. The skull, the size, the EVERYTHING. Then there was this long-haired Chihuahua on that site. That could be my long-lost litter mate. I swear. That dog looked exactly like me.

One year ago today...

... mom came home and let me out like usual. Normally, I beat her to the door. But one year ago today, I was not at the door when she was. She looked back and saw me, with my arm curled up to my shoulder, jumping and whimpering in pain. It was horrible. Mom scooped me up and was frantic. She put me on a pillow and stroked my head. She was very nervous that I had done something really bad to my shoulder. She laid by me and told me that everything would be alright.

I had some surgeries this summer, the first was unsuccessful so I had to have another one. Now, 365 days later, I am almost as good as new! Some of my hair has not grown back yet. She is so proud of me! I survived it!

April is here.

I am quite excited actually, even though it is hard to tell. The only thing is that there is snow on the ground and it is supposed to snow again tomorrow. Can you believe that? It was eighty degrees a week ago but now it's not!

I am now officially Honey Bunches of Oat "Lucky". Mom has been calling me the name of that blasted cereal for about a year now. I will still go by Lucky, though, so don't worry.

I finally got a collar today that can be used for walks. Once it gets warmer again, Mom will take me out for some fun-filled fun.

March! March! March!

I have decided that I love the month of March. Just love it. Why?

1. It's 85 degrees outside!! For TWO days in a row, it was hot. Can you believe that? It's winter in South Dakota for golly's sake!

2. Mom's brother is here and he sleeps in the basement. I'm not allowed in the basement- normally! Yep! I get to go down there every morning and wake him up so I can get on that nice, soft, cuddly couch. Aren't I nice?

3. I have changed my name (not legally, of course!) and not it has awesome titles after it that stand for

Go Fetch It Yourself (I don't play fetch. What's the point at that game anyway?)
Terribly Good At Nothing (Although I think sleeping is one of my fortes.)
Moody Pup Excellent (Okay, okay.)

4. Mom just changed my picture to this lovely one that makes me look like I am on a beach. Or someplace nice instead of on the unmade bed. We'll have to see.


I think that's enough for now.

Mommy never thought she'd get to say this but, The Colts are going to the Superbowl!!!! As soon as they beat the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, Mommy screamed, hugged me, threw me in the air, caught me, put me on the bed, and ran downsairs. She then proceeded to run 12 times from the kitchen to the bathroom. She was psyched!

Too bad they're playing the Bears! Mommy's Mom and brothers go for the Bears. Oh well! That's okay- Mommy's dad and her go for the Colts, so it's balanced! Balanced if I count, at least.

Mommy's got to go work on subject/verb agreement. I think I'll go "help" her. Maybe get ready for tonight's American Idol.

I blew that hope out of the water!

I said in my previous diary entry that I had hoped to have 150 Pup Pals by March 10. Well, yesterday, I reached that goal! Can you believe it? It only took me 19 days! I'm so happy right now! I can't contain myself!

Maybe by March 10 I will have 200 Pup Pals! Maybe, just maybe!

Today is a big day in my Dogster History!

So, at approximately 6:22 PM, I reached 101 Pup Pals! Yay! *PIERRE*, Roxy, and ~FIGARO~ are my newest Pup Pals and man, am I excited!

And today I've been a member of Dogster for 2 months. What a perfect day to reach 100 Pup Pals! Maybe by March 10 I'll have 150 Pup Pals! We'll have to see...
