Leave a bone for Tylers' Portia Bella

Porka, Porkarina, Porkula, Pony Baloney, Little Devil, Baby, Snout, Snoo, BooBooLina, Puppula, White Rat or Grey Rat...depending :)

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:

April 13th 2004

Roaming freely, being near 'the pack', sleeping on the furry pillows, shredding tissues secretly under the bed, playing with pals, 'attacking' her toys, doggie daycare, sleeping most of the day away, small sneaky hiding places where we can't reach her

Plain dry kibble, tap water, being alone, having her nails clipped by Mom, being sent to her bed, getting told NO...which is often. :)

Favorite Toy:
There are too many to name, can you say three baskets of toys?! and they all get mostly equal lovin'... some faves: Piggy, HideASquirrel, Froggie, Duckie, Squeaky Hedgehog, and 'EarBall'...an odd round furry ball thing with ears courtesy of Dad.

Favorite Food:
Yummy meat products, broth in her kibble, breakfast sausage, watermelon juice, liver biscotti, Frosty Paws, lamb ears, and bully sticks...ew!!

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere, anytime but especially places where there's lots of sniffs and squirrels hanging out!

Best Tricks:
Princess P knows how to sit pretty, shake, roll over, lay down, give paw, and play dead...which she does while keeping a very wide open eye on the treat! Partially dead anyway, it's worth something!

Arrival Story:
I've wanted a Westie for years...and I had aquired some extra time at home to be around for a new puppy which is something we had been talking about. We started scouting around locally, and found one female pup whose potential owner had backed out on taking her home. We went to see her and fell in love instantly of course. We were going to wait to take her home for another week so that we could get the house puppy-proofed and ready, but could not bear to leave her! The drive was 3.5 hours each way so that solidified the decision. We took her with us, on the way home we stopped at the store and loaded up on pet goodies. The first few weeks were a trial in patience and confusion (for everyone involved!) but things definitely calmed down, and within time we have all learned how to make each other happiest...like when cuddling on the couch!

Portia originally came from Red Bluff, over near Redding in California, where her mom and dad live. The drive was long, but the country is beautiful. She is a suburban dog now and loves to roam around the house and sleep in the sun. Her favorite spots are laying on the pillows on the couch so she can see outside and into the back park...or on the street where people are walking. She's a nosy little thing, always wants to see what you are doing and partake if possible. No laying around and snoozing daily for this girl, if something is happening in the house, she is right there. She only sleeps when we are gone or at night! She may look small but she's big in spirit, she loves to play with the big dogs and can run for a pretty long time on those short little Westie legs...everyone is always amazed at her stamina.
