Well, let's see. I'm very lucky to have been adopted by my mommy.

First, seven of my siblings and I plus our mommma were dumped at a kill shelter. This kill shelter has like a 83% kill rate. So how lucky am I to have been one out of less than 20% that get adopted? Pretty lucky I say.

Well, like any puppy you get at a shelter you have no real way of knowing the genetics behind the dog. Normally this is not a problem but I guess something didn't go right with me. I have an irrational fear of my doggy friends. And I'm reactive too. But mommy and I work on this everyday. The roads have been bumpy. And sometimes mom wonders "why" but she say God sent me into her life so that we could grow and learn together and he knew she wouldn't give up on me. Also, I was taken from my fur-mommy at 4 weeks of age and that didn't help at all. I'm very sensitive and loving. I can't go to doggy day cares and dog events like my bro Woody. So since I'm very intuitive and smart mom spends extra time teaching me a lot of tricks.

The greatest part of adopting is the relationship. This undeniable tie that bonds us. The hard work we put into each other. Each and every dog out there is special. Unfortunately, through circumstances out of their control dogs and cats are dumped in shelters. They are voiceless and deserve a chance. We need to be there light. Sometimes people get too caught up in thinking dogs come perfectly behaved and have no issues. But they are living creatures and just like people we all have our own quirks we have to work through and there is no perfect person and no perfect dog, however we are all exceptional individuals. We all have our own personalities. This is what makes each and everyone of us special- dog and human alike. I LOVE Hershey and he has taught me so much. He's special in his own ways and without fail his smiling face is always there to greet me when I get home.
