I'm so sad

It's been a really long time since I posted anything here, wow!

Ralfie died this weekend. My Mom was sitting next to him on his bed and he just stopped breathing. I barked at him for awhile to see if he'd get up so we could play, but it was too late.
I miss him so much. So does Dad, he cried all weekend, I think Ralf was his best dog friend. Everyone is being very nice to me and giving me more treats and hugs than ever before. I'm not sure if I'll like being an "only dog".

Woof woof! Wow, it's been a long time since I updated this! Mom's pretty much been hogging the computer all to herself. She got a new laptop in December and now nobody sees her very much, she's always working. But I went to Grandma's this weekend and she lets me do whatever I want, so here I am!

Today I got to go to somebody else's house with mom and grandma for awhile. They carried a bunch of stuff outside and put it in a truck, I dunno where they were taking it, and they wouldn't let me sniff anything. :( They said something about moving great-grandpa's stuff to the dump. I wonder what that is...sounds like something I might like!

Ralf had to stay home this weekend, so Mom and I are having a good time just hanging out. Today I had a rawhide AND a pig ear! I never get that much when Ralf is around, he always steals my snacks! The only thing I don't like about Grandma's house is that I can't get into the bathroom to get my own drinks. Mom acts like we have such good manners here, when we all know how things REALLY are! Ha!

Well, it's time for me to hit the sack. I need to get my beauty rest, we're going home tomorrow and I need to look pretty for Ralfie. Woof!

Woof woof! What a busy week I've had! I know you've all been waiting with baited breath for my graduation results!

Monday night Mom and Dad took me to obedience school, and Dad videotaped me! Mom said I did everything really well, and especially the sit stay when she walks away from me across the room. I hate it when she does that! But I was very good, and didn't move until she called me. Then I ran as fast as I could across the room to her and sat right in front of her, just like I'm supposed to. Everybody clapped for me!

So I graduated, and now I'm ready for harder things! We have our first meeting at the training club next week. Then the week after that we start in the next level of obedience classes! I'm going to be so smart!

Last night Mom and Dad were cleaning the house since Grandma is coming this weekend. I love it when she comes because she always brings Maynard, her dog. We have tons of fun chasing each other around and playing in the yard.

Mom finally got a fish! He's really cute, but I don't think he likes me. He hides in his cave when I come over to check him out. He's purple and yellow, and Dad says he has a big mouth. Maybe Mom can get him a website like fishter.com! Right now he doesn't do a whole lot other than eat stuff and swim around. Mom and Dad stare at him a lot and talk about how pretty he is. I'm pretty, too!

Mom says that since today is "take your kid to work day", that she's going to take me to work this afternoon! I can't wait!

Boy, is my Mom excited!

Last night we went to my obedience class, and did something called a "Rally". Mom said I did everything perfectly, and after the class a lady came over and told her I was ready to show! Mom is signing me up for some more classes, and it looks like I get to be a demonstration dog sometime soon! I don't know who was more excited, me or her! (then again...I'm always excited about something or other)

Tonight I think we're going somewhere special to celebrate. I heard the "d-o-g-p-a-r-k" word this morning, I hope it's what I think it is!!!

Next week is my graduation class. Dad's going to come and video me while I go through all of my exercises. I'd better be practicing up for this!

Well, it's Monday again. Mom took Ralfie to see our cousin Maynard this weekend. I had to stay home with Dad. He worked on a bunch of stuff around the house, and I got to stay outside with him. I really wanted to go with Ralfie...I tried whining and barking when Mom left Saturday morning but it didn't work. :( I don't like it when Ralf gets to go and I don't. But I guess he probably doesn't like it when I get to go, either...

However, tonight is my obedience class and I'm ready to wow everyone! Mom says we only have one more week after tonight. I'm going to miss all of my friends, but maybe we'll see each other at the dog park sometime! I hope I get to go to the toy store soon. I really wanted Dad to take me there this weekend but we only went to the plumbing store!

I guess that's all for today, I'm sleepy!

Howdy!

Mom put some new pictures of me up today from our camping trip! I'm looking pretty silly in them, but she just didn't catch me in the right light! Really! I've been eating roasted marshmallows in the last photo, but thank goodness you can't see that I had them all over my face!

Today was kind of a boring day for me. I waited in my crate for Mom to come home and let me out at lunchtime, but she had to work through. :( However, she's home now and we're going to have fun! I think she's going to take me and Ralfie to the dog park in a little bit!

Guess I'd better go get ready! I need to find all my toys so I can take them with me!

Hi doggies! And people too!

It's been another busy week at the Palace of Alice! Monday night I had obedience school, where I learned how to sit and stay while Mom walks around me. I'm not sure if I like that command or not...I want to see what she's doing at all times! She says I'm doing pretty well at the new stuff so far!

She and Dad are still finding ticks on poor Ralfie from our trip to Missouri last weekend. They've found a couple more on me, but I have shorter hair so they're easier to see. Ralfie is pretty good about just laying there while someone picks them off, tho. Better him than me!

Mom says she's taking Ralf to visit our cousin Maynard this weekend. I really want to go! But Mom says that I got to go last time and Ralf had to stay home, so I guess that's fair. But I really wish we could both go. Dad says that together we're too much of a handful, whatever that means. He can be so silly!

I keep getting into trouble for messing with that stupid cat, Lucy. I just want to play with her! But she has to keep hissing at me. If she'd stop trying to bite me she'd see that I'm just a big puppy, and I don't mean any harm. But instead Mom yells at me to leave the cat alone (actually it's more like: "Alice, for the 5 billion and fifth time, leave that cat alone!).

We still don't have our new fishy. I think Mom should ask for a different kind of fish soon. I want something to watch!

Wow, what a weekend! We went camping! And hiking! And Ralf and me got to swim in a river!

Mom and Dad took us to Meramec State Park in Missouri for a geocaching event. Me and Ralf met all kinds of other doggies, and ate treats til we were stuffed! One night Mom even toasted me some marshmallows, they were yummy! We went for really long walks in the hills, and saw all kinds of other animals. We even got to go in a cave! Ralf really likes to drink cave water! Mom took a picture of him laying in a cave stream!

She also took a picture of me eating a marshmallow, I think she thought it was funny that I got it all over my face, but I was kind of embarassed about it. Maybe that picture won't turn out!

Mom says we might go camping in Ohio in a couple of months, I can't wait! I hope it's by a river!

Mom's really had me busy lately! I had my obedience class on Monday, and EVERYBODY was talking about how much better I am. I didn't know you could get better than perfect, but apparently I did! Woof!

Last night Mom and Dad brought home this big box behind their Jeep and put it in the driveway. Mom calls it a camper, and she's been busy filling it up with all kinds of things. Apparently we're going on a trip this weekend! I hope she remembers to pack my treats and toys! And my bed! I wonder where we're going?

I was kind of grumpy on Sunday. Mom had promised that I'd get to go somewhere in the car, but then she never took me! She apologized and I forgave her, so it's all good, but I STILL want to go somewhere! Ralfie got to go for a ride and I didn't. That's so unfair! I guess technically I DID get to go for a ride to obedience school, and Ralfie really cries when we leave. I think he misses me! :)

We have more stuff in the fish tank now! It's full of big rocks and snails and hermit crabs and these funny little feather duster worm things. I like to stare at it a lot. Mom says I'm "mesmerized", whatever that is. She told me that we're getting a new fish to go in the tank, but not until at least next week. I wonder what it will look like?

Mom says we're going for a long walk tonight if it doesn't rain. There's a springer spaniel around the corner that likes to bark at me, I'm planning on barking louder, though! Woof woof!

Wow! I'm a diary of the day!!!! Woof woof! Mom says I can go to the toy store later and pick out a prize! Woohoo! What should I get? A giant rawhide, or a new squeaky toy, or a brand new roll of toilet paper, just for ME!? Or maybe I should get some new snacks, or Frosty Paws! Or a giant femur, or a new ball, or maybe Mom will buy me that chinchilla I've been lusting after!!!! Wow!!!! That thing would make a GRRRRREAT toy for me!

Let's see, since I've been here last, I was sick! Mom said I was feeling under the weather. Of COURSE I'm under the weather, there's a whole atmosphere up there! Silly Mom! I was having a hard time keeping my lunch down, if you know what I mean. (Psst! Don't tell Mom, but I MIGHT have gotten into the dog snacks and had a few too many...they're so good! Nobody can eat just one!) But I'm fine now! I've already been outside with Ralfie today, and we chased each other around and played tag.

I just love weekends, don't you? Mom and Dad are home for two whole days! And they take us places and let us sniff lots of stuff. The other night we got to go geocaching again! Mom says me and Ralfie need to learn how to sniff out the caches better, so her and Dad don't have to. I think it's funny to watch them crawl around on the ground, looking for the prizes! I LOOOOOVE prizes!!!!

Well, Mom says I'm getting too excited, so I probably hafta go outside again. HAFTA? I LOOOOOOVE going outside! There's so much to do and see and smell in our yard! Maybe I'll see a deer! If I do, maybe I can catch it! Will you guys share it with me if I do? I'm not sure I could eat that whole thing, but I'd try!
