What a great weekend!!

Saturday was a really good but LONG day! Mom and I left the house early and went over to Kizo's house! I wasn't too thrilled because my Mom had that stupid seatbelt harness on me though. Then we got in the car and went to Chrissy Field in San Francisco. There were 8 Shibas for our meet-up and while we were there we met another Shiba! One of the Shibas that was there was Suki who Mom let live in our house for a while while she was finding her forever home. I didn't like Suki very much when she was living in our house but I was really nice to her on Saturday and even walked with her side by side! That made my Mom really happy. I had my Mom post pictures of Saturday for me at http://imageevent.com/tburt/chrissyfield06 We were at the beach and walking for 4 hours! Then on the way home Mom's friend called and said she was at the art and wine festival. So on the way home we went to the art and wine festival for a few hours. Man, it was hot out there! I was happy when we finally left. Then I hung with Kizo some more before Mom took me home.

Sunday Mom took me to the dog park to play with my buddy Hiro. I love him! We are always kissing each other. We only played for about 5 minutes though because it was hot and we were both tired. Then Mom, Hiro, his parents, and I went shopping. Then Hiro got to come over for a while and play!! That was fun after we had some doggie ice cream and lots of water we went nuts!

Then on Monday Mom took me to daycare. She said she was going to keep me home because I seemed so tired but she took me anyway. My daycare just expanded into their new big building and the web cams didn't work yet so Mom was worried all day that I was too tired. Boy did I fool her! I played all day! The workers said I have never played so much and they wondered where all my energy came from. I just love to keep people guessing! I hope all my doggie friends had as good of a weekend as I did.

Busy Week!

Whew, today is only Wednesday and I am pooped! Monday started off pretty normal but really early. I couldn't figure out why Mom was up so early. Then when she was leaving she picked up my leash. Woo hoo! I ran to the door and out to the car. We went for a drive and we went to daycare! My first day! Mom said I had to be there at 7am so I could be the first doggy there since it was my first day. I love daycare, I even got a report card! The daycare people said I did great- I had fun, made friends, did all my commands, and didn't get a single time out. I had so much fun and they sent me home with a frisbee and cookies. Can't wait to go back! Then we went to Mom's friends house and I got to run around with the kids. When we finally got home I was so sleepy. Then the next night Mom took me to a new class. I was confused because we were at a different place with lots of dogs, but Mom said we are practicing serious obedience. Whatever that means. Mom said I did great except for a down stay. What the heck is a stay?? I want to go where the people are. Oh well, Mom left me at home today when she left which is ok because I need a nap!

OH BOY, DAYCARE!!!!

Oh boy oh boy!!! My mom has been talking about this whole day care thing for a while. I didn't really know what she talking about, but she kept saying Hailey needs to get insurance first. I need to fill out Hailey's application. Hailey has to get a shot so she doesn't get kennel cough. A shot??? Oh no no, no thank you. I started thinking daycare was some crazy place I wanted no part of. Then I heard one of my best Shiba buddies goes and he likes it, so maybe. So Mommy came home in the middle of the day and we went for a car ride. She said be a really good girl Hailey, it is your daycare evaluation. I am always a good girl, what is she talking about? Sure I chewed a shoe once, is she still dwelling on that one? Anyway, we got to daycare and went inside. I could smell and hear the doggies but not see them. After a little bit, here came my best buddy! Oh we got to play and play. If this is what daycare is, I love it!! Then more and more doggies came. Oh I LOVE this place! Mom says I get to go there every week and play while she is at work. Sweet! Then I got a yummy raw lamb bone for being so good. Mom made me share it with the cat, but that's ok it was still good. I can't wait to go back!

My Birthday!!

Mom said all day Saturday how it was my birthday weekend. I wasn't really sure what that meant, but considering she made me eggs for breakfast I knew a birthday must be a good thing! Then she said she was going to make me a cake. A cake, for me??? Wow, I never get cake. She made it, but then I didn't get it. Huh? So I went to bed and pounted. But then next day when we woke up Mom said Happy Birthday Hailey! Considering I didn't get the cake yesterday, I just laid in bed while she showered. Then she said time for cake! Oh boy, I flew out of bed. Man, that cake was some good stuff. Then we went to the dog park! Then after that we went to go see my cousin Sunny and have some more cake! I got so many presents, I love birthdays!! Mom said I just turned 2 so I have many more birthdays, but when are they?? Rain Rain Go Away!

Man, I am tired of the rain. My walks are super short, and I have to walk on wet grass which I hate. I show my protest by shaking my paws dry every few steps. Mom bought me a jacket so I don't get all wet, but my feet still get wet. Plus I haven't been to the park in soooo long! I miss my friends :(. Normally on the weekends I get to do all kinds of fun things, but all I did yesterday was sleep cause there was nowhere for Mom to take me. She said she was bored too. So rain, won't you please just go away???

Got to go to Work!

I finally got to see what this work place is all about! Every morning I watch as Mommy leaves, I'm sad but used to it. Boy was I surprised when this morning she said you coming Mae? I was out that door and standing next to the car before Mom could even pick up her purse! Work is a good place. Mommy kept me off my leash all day and everyone was real impressed with the way I just followed her every step. I was nice and quiet and one guy even asked me what I wanted while he went to pick up lunch. Mom just smiled and said I was ok, but he came back with beef jerky for me! I was even called perfect and said I was the dog people dream about. Wow oh wow! I don't know why Mom complains about work, I LOVE it!

P-A-R-T-Y!!!

Man I love the weekends! Mom doesn't go to that stupid place called work and she always has something fun planned for us. This Saturday it was the Shiba meet-up! Yippee, I love when she says I am going to get to play with my friends. I heard mommy and her friends counting and they think there were 12 of us Shibas! It was great. I got to see all my old friends plus some new ones. When we got home mommy gave me a dreaded bath and clipped my nails. One she clipped a little too much and it started bleeding. Mommy felt really bad so I didn't scream. She took me to the store to get something to fix the bleeding and I got a bully stick! Then I got to go see Granny. Man, she can make me bleed anytime if this is what happens, it didn't even hurt! Then we went home and Mom started pulling out food and then all these people came over with food and presents. That's right, we were having a PARTY! Oh how I love a good party. The humans gave me lots of good treats and I got pet all night long it was great! The next day Mom layed on the couch for a while which was great cause I got to lay with her. I love the weekends!

HELLO pay attention to ME!

Man, I don't know what is going on with my mom lately. She is always telling me to leave her alone because she has to read and do something called homework. I don't know what homework is, but I don't like it! I hear that work word all the time when Mommy leaves, now there is work at home too? Nope, no way, not gonna have it. So Mom was on her computer, ignoring me. Can you believe the nerve? Well, I being a Shiba will have none of this. I stood on my hind legs and thrust my front paws as hard as I could into my Mom's leg. That got her attention for sure! But she went back to the computer. So I stood in the middle of the room and howled with all my might. Nothing. So I got up and started yanking on the bottom of Mom's pants. Bingo! She finally got up and played with me. Geez, took her long enough!

What was my Mom thinking

I think my Mom has lost it guys. She brought some strange dog into my house. My house, can you believe that? I don't normally mind other dogs in my house, but this time I got locked up in the kitchen while my Mom sat with this dog on my couch. What the heck is she thinking?? I let it be known I was not happy. Everyday I saw this dog in my house, always through a gate, and I showed her my teeth a few times so she knew who was boss. My Mom would actually leave me and take this other thing on walks. I was getting more upset by the day. I would tease this dog, which Mom said was another Shiba, but I don't believe her. She was bigger than me and ate a lot, so she never had leftover treats like me. So I would take my treat and set it in front of the gate and just stare at her. Ha ha, I have the treat and she can't get it. Boy was that a fun game! Mom said something about the Shiba would have been put to sleep if we didn't let her come stay with us, so I guess that is ok, but not really. Then on Saturday my Mom left with the dog and didn't come back for hours. I was so sad. But then, Mom came home without the other dog! Oh I was so happy. Mom said she brought the other dog to the rescue lady in hopes that she can find a forever home like I have. Good luck to her and good riddens! A little bit later my good buddy Hiro, another Shiba came over for the night. I love him! I shared everything with him, and mom wonders what my problem was with the rescue Shiba. I don't have a reason, I just like to keep her guessing.

Having fun in the world!

After being in heat for 6 weeks, I finally stopped last weekend and both me and Mom were really happy! So I have been able to go to the dog park 3 times in the last week. One day I actually saw another Shiba! She was little, only 15 pounds and was 3 years old, but we had fun and everyone kept asking about us since there were 2 of us. Then on Saturday Mom took me on a walk to Barnes and Noble. She carried me inside cause she is scared someone might take me, and I am nice, and would probably let them. While walking about we ran into a couple that has 2 Shibas at home! Then that night at the dog park, we ran into a man we have met before who has 2 Shibas. They weren't at the park though. One is not nice, he tried to bite me one time. The other was at a show. It was an interesting week meeting so many Shiba people! Maybe while I was in hiding for 6 weeks we became more popular :)
