Shhhhh, don’t tell Daddy. Mom said she was taking him on a surprise date for Father’s Day. Truth be told, WE were taking daddy on the date! We all piled into the car and drove over four hours to Vermont, to Dog Mountain, to see the Dog Chapel!!!
It was so much fun; we stayed in a hotel, and the nice lady took our picture to put on the hotel’s Facebook page. We played in the really big yard they had, and slept in the room with mom and dad.
The next day, we went to see Dog Mountain. It was Heaven on Earth!!! We got to run around with no leashes (no dogs have to wear their leashes there). They had an agility course, an art gallery, a pond, hiking trails, the works. And….a Chapel. You have to see it to believe it. We were allowed to go in the pond soaking wet, and then go in the chapel, the gallery – wherever we wanted to go.
Our friend Kodi drove two and a half hours to meet us. Well, actually Kodi, didn’t drive, his mom Deb, did. We had a great time together. Check out Dog Mountain at http://www.dogmt.com/index.php

It's a few days before Christmas.....and we wanted to extend blessings for health and happiness in the New Year to all our pup friends and their families.
We pray for peace in the world; shelter for all living creatures, both human and fur......hugs, kisses, love, attention, affection, and of course a full bowl of Kibble.
We cry for the children and the adults who are homeless, and for the fur babies who are as well. We are sorry for their loneliness and isolation. We are deeply saddened when we see people sleeping in the streets; and when we see a dog tied to a line all day; or in a kennel staring at its house, hoping its owners will come and play. And for kitties who are feral and must hunt and live outside all winter.
But for all the sadness, we are so happy for the people who give generously of their time, effort and money to help the homeless people, the abandoned dogs, and the feral kitties. For them, we are grateful.
Peace and blessings to all of you in the coming New Year.
Our hearts are with you,
Riley, Skye and Quinn (and Mommy too)

Because it’s Thanksgiving time, there is a change to the rules. Each player needs to tell seven special things they are thankful for. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their 7 things. Then choose 7 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play. We're going to divert a little from this game....we're not going to tag other pups. We're just going to list what we're thankful for. And we could easily do more than seven......
1. I am thankful that mom and dad took a chance on me.
2. I am thankful I had the best teacher ever - Riley!
3. I am thankful I have a new little sister, Quinn
4. I am thankful that I became a poster dog to help raise awareness in our Town about abandoned animals.
5. I am thankful for my never ending collection of FRISBEES.
6. I am thankful for all my Dogster pals.
7. I am thankful for a warm bed at night, water at all times, good food, good treats, a safe place to live, and loving hands.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my pup pals!

I would like to take this opportunity to send prayers and thoughts to all who lost someone on September 11th, 2001, and to all who did what they could to help at a time when everything seemed hopeless. And in fact, it was. And we'd like to thank all the dogs who risked, and lost, their lives to help find our humans in the tragedy of September 11th. Dogs came from near and far......they worked relentlessly through the mess. They died; they becamed fatigued; and they became frustrated in trying to find what they were taught to do....find bodies that were alive. Some became sick from breathing in the fumes. Some died that day....thank you all loving dogs that helped in the search and rescue. All gave some.....and some gave all.
Thank you. God Bless America.

You are Tagged by Luv!
Bella Tagged us with Love – now we’re returning it. We’re supposed to tag 10 pups; it’s very hard to pick a limited number; but here are the pups we have special feelings fur. We’re each putting them on our page, because we are all Pup Pals!
Bella 53067 – You’re a beauty and we’re so glad we met. We love your motto and think you should be on the license plates in New Hampshire! ( Skye thinks you are especially pretty!)
Daisy 446903 – What can we say? You are so dear to all of us, but for Riley, you are her best girlfriend in the clouds. You have helped Mommy grieve; you are truly a wonder dog, so full of life and love. We thank you for that. And we thank your mommy.
Kodi 473355 – Our friendship with Kodi is extra special. Quinn wouldn’t go with just any boy on a motorcycle! Kodi is a large part of our lives, and we thank his mommy for that as well. (And we also have a very special fondness for Jack.)
Oliver 80578 – We think you are so handsome with your Doggles! And we are so impressed with your dognapping abilities.! You are one cool dude!
Merlin 510251 – you are Down Under, and Extra Special! You are truly Magic.
Autumn 282946– We are so thankful for what you’ve given us; not only wings for Riley, but your empathy, friendship and support.
Maggie 405461– kiss, kiss from Skye!!!!– you are an awesome pup in your tube!!!! You should have won the water dog contest.
Casey 446863– You are such a handsome man (hee, hee, you look so much like Skye)
Carrie 446926 – Not to ever be forgotten. You are the silent one, but always with Daisy and Riley.
Sadie Mae 444853– Gone way too soon. But Riley will watch over you (both of them).
Baby Bull Dozer 362633– you are the biggest, sweetest guy!!!

Yesterday we went to Grandma and Grandpa's lake house in the Adirondacks. We had so much fun!!! We went on the boat, and we got to go swimming. We chased tennis balls until we were exhausted! Mom gave us an aspirin when we got home because she knew our muscles HURT.
We love the water and went swimming off the little beach; but Mom wanted to see if we would jump off the dock. We were a little hesitant, so Mom gave me a very small " push" to encourage me to JUMP in (and it was not deep). Once I did - I really loved it. (She felt bad, but I think I needed it to see what it would be like to jump in!!)
It was Quinn's VERY FIRST ride in the boat. I've been there before with Riley, but this was Quinn's maiden voyage. You'll have to read her diary to see what she thought about it!
So - if you ever thought you had the best day in your life - that's what it was like for me yesterday!!! We helped mom and dad transport a couple of pups to rescue, then off to G & G's we went....boat ride, swimming, treats, everything that a pup could want! I had a great day!!!

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
1. I lived in an animal shelter for 6 months. Someone adopted me and took me back w/in 3 days because they left me alone in the house and I ate their footstool. Mommy says: Jer&s. Ok, she said worse than that....
2. I have one brown eye and one blue eye.
3. I am the single best frisbee catcher that mommy and daddy know. I can catch if you throw it right handed - OR - left handed. And there IS a difference.
4. I love all dogs.
5. I love all people.
6. I do not walk well on a leash.
7. I will love you no matter what.
I am tagging:
Skye (obviously!)

Raja Sarabi Vom Kemerling

Quinn and I go to Doggie Day Care. Trish (the day care lady), told Mommy that we could be good Canine Citizens. She showed mommy how to walk me. It looked pretty good when Trish was doing it, but mommy tried today and ....well......not so good. I heard her saying she was going to keep doing it. What is "it"? She's going to keep trying to make me walk nicely on lead. I'm not sure I want to. Really? What is in it for me? Can anyone tell me? I want to march forward! But Mommy keeps giving me signals to come to her. I'll try. I promise.

We found this on a website.......sad, but worth thinking about.
Dog Poetry
Stray's Prayer
Dear God, please send me somebody who'll care!
I'm tired of running, I'm sick with despair.
My body is aching, it's so racked with pain,
and dear God I pray, as I run in the rain.
That someone will love me and give me a home,
a warm cozy bed and a big juicy bone.
My last owner tied me all day in the yard
Sometimes with no water, and god that was hard.
So I chewed my leash, and God I ran away.
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now God, I'm tired and hungry and cold,
and I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old.
They've chased me with sticks and hit me with stones,
while I run the streets just looking for bones!
I'm not really bad, God, please help if you can,
or I have become just a "Victim of Man!"
I'm wormy dear God and I'm ridden with fleas,
and all that I want is an Owner to please!
If you find one for me God, I'll try to be good,
and I won't chew their shoes, and I'll do as I should.
I'll love them, protect them and try to obey....
when they tell me to sit, to lie down or to stay!
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
cause I'm getting so weak and I'm so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
cause I'm so afraid God, that I'm gonna die.
And I've got so much love and devotion to give,
that I should be given a new chance to Live!
So dear God, please answer my prayer,
and send me someone who will REALLY care..
That is, Dear God, if YOU'RE REALLY there!

Mom and Dad got a new pup last April from a Lab rescue group. Her name is Quinn. I sure do love her. Quinn is very energetic. Let me say that again - VERY energetic! She wants to play all the time. I am fast. I am very fast. But Quinn is pretty fast too. She gives me a run for my money. I love when mom or dad throw us a toy. If it's a frisbee - no contest. My Border Collie blood will run, jump and get the frisbee in mid-air (most of the time). But if it's a tennis ball or other toy, Quinn will get to it first half the time. And I will, the other half.
Most of the time, I let her win. Because I am the big brother and she needs to learn confidence. Mom knows when it's really important to me, I don't give up. I take charge, and I take the toy. But I don't mind giving up most of the time....it's more important for Quinn to learn to get the toy, return it, and start over again. She's just a baby, but she's learning!
