Dog Park Fun

Secret City Festival - June 19 & 20, 2009

Mommy & Daddy took me to the Secret City Festival again. We have been four years in a row. The first year we went I won friendliest dog. They didn't have the category again until this year... and guess what.. I won again!! I'm sooo friendly!!

Attendance was way down this year.. it's always sooo hot. Instead of about 30 doggies for the doggie parade there were about 10. Made winning easier... but I think I would have won anyway... cause hey, I'm a very social girl!!

We visited several booths and I got toys and treats. I also received a certificate and a toy for winning Friendliest doggie.

Oh yeah, Mommy made sure I got a bath there... the Oak Ridge Shelter does them for donations and I get one every year. IT does kind of help keep me cool during the hottest time of the day!!

First Race -- FIRST PLACE -- Saturday, May 23, 2009

Mommy is sooo very proud of me!! She has always wanted me to do lure coursing to see how fast I really am, but no one does that around here... however The American Cancer Society held doggie races at Petsafe Village this past Saturday to raise funds for research and we decided to participate.

Most of the races were jack russell races, but they did do weiner dog races and then ALL BREEDS.

I ran in the all breed, medium size dog race.... and I WON FIRST PLACE!! It was definately worth the $10.00 for Mommy to see me run... she was a very proud pet parent!!

Mommy knew I would win because as we stood and watched all the races before ours, I kept trying to go after the lure (fox tail)... I wanted that darn thing!!

I almost caught the fox tail when I ran... I was sooo fast... Mommy was at the end of the track, so she didn't see me running from the side view, but her friend told her that I was halfway down the track before the other dogs even got started!!!

I won a Blue Ribbon that reads 1ST PLACE, a bag of River Dog Bakery Cookies and a weeks boarding pass at PetSafe Village!!!


We can't wait for next year....

PS: The Greyhound in attendance won the big dog all breed race... no contest there... us hound dogs are pawsome!!!

Bark in the Park After Dark, May 16, 2009

Mommy & Daddy both took me to Bark in the park after Dark!! It was pawsome. I saw many of my friends there... Woot, Aurora, Snuggles and Bri. Snuggles & Bri are customers at the doggie day care Mommy works for... we play together sometimes!!

This year, instead of a hotdog, Daddy got a steakburger and I got to help him eat it!! I really really enjoyed it.... but hotdogs are good too.

We bought treats at the River Dog Booth & K&B Dog Treats. Amy with Agri Feed gave us a food sample and gave me lots of petting & hugging!! She really likes me and I really like her too.

We watched some of the contests... we really wanted snuggles to win... she was so cute in her country girl outfit.

After a long time of doggie fun we headed home... time for doggie dreamland...
