Tag! I'm IT!

My pal Lucy tagged me!

So here are the rules:

If you get tagged, you have to list 7 facts about yourself. Then, you will list 7 dogs you will tag and give them a paw mail or rossette telling them that they have been tagged!

Facts:

1. I absolutely will do anything for cheese. That includes not barking at the doorbell.
2. I only will play fetch if the ball is thrown a distance to my liking. Otherwise, I will run after the ball and not pick it up.
3. Squirrels are my sworn enemy and it is my duty to chase them (even if Mom is not awake enough to keep up with me).
4. Even though I can sleep in my crate quite comfortably, I prefer to stretch out across the king-sized bed my parents sleep on and push them off.
5. My favorite thing to play with is a lime. Yes, a lime. I like to throw them and chase after them.
6. I love, love, love agility. On nights when we have class, I'll run to the front door and whine at Mom while she's putting on her shoes. She really takes forever to do that.
7. Even though I was only on my island for 8 weeks, I am totally solar-powered and hate the rain.

I will tag...

1. Kinsley 379526
2. Zima 74468
3. Remo the Red 106064
4. Kiki 248286
5. Lucy 174247
6. Mookie & Sam 312766
7. Lennon, CGC 312578

I love Agility!!!!!

Tonight was the last class of my second session of Agility. Oh how I love it! I get to run as fast as I can (well at least as fast as I can when I'm not jumping over stuff). Sometimes, Mom can keep up which is nice but I don't care if she does. She shows me the course before we start so I kind of know where we're going. :)

Anyhow, I hope I get to keep doing this Agility thing. Since I live in the city, I don't get to run around off leash too often (except at day care and when I go to Sam's house). Plus, I get hot dogs!

Cold Monday

So Sunday started happy - Mom and Dad were smiling and laughing as they put on their jerseys - but it ended very sadly. I don't know what happened but they were very quiet when they came home. I heard Dad say something about resisting the urge to blame Grossman (I didn't see the game but something tells me he didn't play very well). I don't think the Bears won either because neither one of them wore Bears stuff to work today.

On top of that, it is just too too cold to go outside. I don't even want to do my business outside. It's so cold Mom makes me wear my coat (I still refuse to wear my booties though). I don't know how I feel about this whole winter thing. The snow part is nice but this freezing thing is not okay.

P.S. I think the cat is a Colts fan though because he's been scampering all over the house and meowing incessantly today. I should have known...

GO BEARS GO!

Over the past couple of weeks, I learned about a very important day to my people. It's called SuperBowl Sunday. Apparently, the Bears (again, I don't know why they are called Bears if they don't even look like one) are playing against the Colts (who also don't even dress like horses). My Dad has worn something related to the Chicago Bears almost every day. My Mom laughs but she's wearing a lot of navy and orange too. They keep talking about point-spreads (I don't know if they are made of cheese but I hope they are tasty) and about how the Bears are more physical than the Colts. I'm not really sure what that means but I would think a Bear would be stronger than a young horse.

Anyhow, I really hope the Bears win. My Dad just got a new Ditka jersey and he really wants to wear it all week. GO BEARS!

Country dog!

This weekend, I went with my people to go to what they called the barn to see their horses. Apparently, they have more pets than just Nikki and me. I can't believe they kept that secret from me.

Anyhow, I only got to meet the one named Pete. Well, I didn't really meet him - every time I went to get close for a sniff, he would lean over the fence and try to touch noses. That was just a little bit too close for me considering how big he was and well, how different he smelled. I tried telling explaining this to him but he just didn't understand my barking.

The best part was when my Dad took me into what they called the arena. It was GIGANTIC and I didn't even have to wear my leash! There were lots of things that I guess the horses jump over but I had more fun just running all over the place. Occasionally I would stop to smell stuff but I had to run as much as I could, I mean how often does a dog like me, with a serious Squirrel Chasing habit, get to run unimpeded? I hope we go again soon although I had to get a bath when we got home.

Are you ready for some football!

So this is my second Sunday during what is called Football Season. I had heard about seasons but I thought they were called Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer (we really don't have seasons on the islands - it's always pretty nice). Anyhow, this Football season is just crazy! My people have football games on the TV on Saturday and then on Sunday, we go to my Uncle Bob's to watch the Bears. I don't know why they are called the Bears - they are just humans wearing navy blue uniforms. They don't look like Bears at all. I really was hoping we would watch actual bears. Although, it's fun to bark and be silly when they make a big play or score. I also get to sit on the sofa next to Dad during the game. Mom isn't always thrilled when I sprawl into her seat but she's pretty tolerant.

My puppy class has been a ton of fun and I have learned sooo much! Next week is our last week. Mom says I'll have a little break and then we'll start another class. I'm kind of glad because it's lots of fun to see all my puppy classmates.

The magical treat ball

My Mom had read about these mystical things called treat balls in one of the Dogster forums so she got me one. They're very tricky. Seomtimes it gives out two or even three of my favorite treats. Other times, and I don't know why, it just won't give me any. I try barking at it to ask nicely but it doesn't give up anything. I even tried picking it up and throwing it. My parents just laugh. I think there's a conspiracy going on here.

Today my people went to the butcher (Paulina Meatmarket for you locals) and came home wiht a knuckle joint. I have never known joy like a nicely microwaved knuckle joint. I haven't been eating as well because I'm teething but this defintiely was yummy. I really hope there's more.

I ought to be in pictures....

My mom got an email over the weekend saying that I had been chosen to be in the closing film credits for Firehouse Dog. She was pretty excited and my Dad is very very proud (he keeps telling everyone about it). I don't know if I have to start working or something but it seems like something neat since everyone is all happy about it.

More importantly, I had my first dinner out on Friday. We were supposed to be going to get some fancy cheeses or something but the store was closed. So we sat outside at a resturaunt. (Chicago Joe's on Irving for anyone who's local) I tried very hard to be good but they ordered peel and eat shrimp which was my favorite thing when I was living on the island. I guess it's not something dogs up here eat so they didn't share. It's okay though becaus I did get a bite of my dad's cheeseburger and it was super yummy!

It was a very busy weekend. I also had my first puppy class. I met sooo many different puppies and everyone was so nice! We got to meet each other and then we worked on coming to our owners (I do this already so I looked super smart to the instructor). I hope we go back again next week - it was so much fun to be able to play and be silly.

Last Vaccination - YAY!!!!!

Today was my last visit to the vet's for boosters. I actually don't mind going to the vet's - there's always lots of friendly dogs that I can meet. But, she gave me shots again although I got some yummy treats for being good. I'm just glad that's over.

My mom asked the vet about when they should schedule my neutering. I don't know what it is but it sounded important. I guess I have to wait a few more months. I'm supposed to get some kind of microchip too. My mom says it will help them find me if I get lost (I don't know how that will happen, I always like where I am).

The cool thing was that I got another toy for being so good at the vet's. My people call it a "goose." I don't know what it is but it makes a funny noise when I bite it and I love things that make noises. The more noise the better!
