A day in the life of Fergus the Wonder Welsh

Spring is in the air...

And I have identified a new arch nemesis. A Canada Goose couple has decided to put their nest at the base of a light pole directly behind where mom parks her Jeep at the office. They are quite protective of their spot and apparently the very act of me getting out of said vehicle is enough to tick them off. Coming and going from work each day has become quite the adventure since the papa goose likes to rush at me squacking all the while. I find this to be an invitation to lunge back barking all the while, but mom doesn't approve of this course of action. She assures me that she is sure I could take the goose in a fair fight, but that she doesn't need to see it to know it. I think that if the goose didn't want to find out he wouldn't challenge me so! Having them hang outside our office is hard to forget about so while mom is getting her morning coffee I like to jump the baby gate at her office door so I can keep an eye on the offending geese so that they don't charge into our office (not sure how they'd get in though since I need help opening the door and I have 4 legs). Of course mom then comes along and puts me back in the office, but I can still keep tabs on them from there. Mom says one of these days we'll get to see a baby goose, but in the meantime I'm going back to my stand-off with my nemesis.
