Today is a day to celebrate...dedicated to daddy!!

Sometimes we get so busy in life, we forget how lucky we truly are...
However, our family does try to make time to reflect within our hearts each day and be thankful...

For each day is truly a gift we have received....and what we choose to do with this gift is up to us....

Life is what it is and it is what you make's about living in the moment and never being afraid to dance in the rain....

Today, June 21....we dedicate to daddy.

You are our hero....our champion...our gift.
Today marks your 11th year anniversary of being cancer free...

Mommy and Jazzi tell me how scarey it was when they said, "you won't make it....", but you did! I am so thankful you are in my life....

For all those who are struggling with cancer or know someone with cancer or have lost someone to cancer...take time today to reflect and truly as if today was the best gift you have received!

What Cancer Cannot Do

Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot quench the Spirit.

Dear catster/dogster friends:

You never cease to amaze us with your unconditional love and support. We never imagined when we joined caster/dogster we would make so many incredible friends....a whole other family. It is amazing. We can never thank each of you individually for all the rosies, gifts, pmails, support, cards, healing energy and that incredibly touching Purr/Woof for Jazzi Day on 4/14/08. Wow!! Our hearts are overwhelmed with love...How can we be so lucky to have each of you forever in our lives and hearts? Thank you for your wonderful gifts of friendship and your compassionate caring hearts...Thank you for all you are, all you give and all you do. You make our lives complete.

To update you a little (although I think Pie and Sissy do that quite well), I am on some antibiotics which will hopefully make my pancreas feel better. This morning I have a sparkle in my eyes and a smile on my face....those are all great signs to see. Sissy is doing better from her fall, still some limping now and then. Mommy is still healing and we just aren't sure how that is going to play out...but we know with your continued love and friendship, we can face anything and get through it!!! We are all strong and when we need extra strength, you all are willingly to give. Wow! Amazing.

Words just can't express the overwhelming feelings in our hearts for each of you and for Catster/Dogster as a community. A song sung by many says it better than we can. We like the Josh Groban version:

"You Raise Me Up…

When I am down and, on my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit a while with me…

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains,
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas,
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up…to more than I can be."

The words "thank you" simply aren't enough, but please know they come deep from our hearts. We love you all so much.

Our hearts are connected by paws, Sissy, Jazzi, Mommy and Daddy

Wow, what an incredible month this has been for special honors and awards. First I was picked by Swee' Pea to receive the Honorary White Star Kitty Award, then to my surprise I was named Cat of The week. I am in awe..................What incredible honors, especially among all the amazing kitties here.

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for Catster/Dogster, as well as, thank you to each and every one of you here that love me, support me, laugh with me, cry with me live my "9th life" with as much joy and happiness as any kitty could want. I feel so loved and blessed to have all of you in my life. I am one lucky kitty.

Mommy wishes she could type a special thank you to each of you for all the wonderful p-mail messages, cards, rosettes, special gifts and kind loving words, but she can't....please know this thank you comes from the bottom of my heart (mommy and Sissy's too). Your continued support of mommy's ongoing health issues, my sister, my daddy and me.....we have never had such wonderful friends. I am okay....just getting a little more tired than I used to be. My episodes from my many illnesses seem to be getting closer together...but I am one tough kitty and living on love....and with all this love here, I will live forver, at least, in a lot of hearts.

My Sister, Sissy, also won second place in the Caring and Sharing Contest. That was a huge honor. She and mommy do such wonderful work for Alzheimers Disease. This award made her feel great. Thank you Douglas Sisters and all those who donated such fabulous prizes. Thank you for doing that for my wonderful sister. This is probably her last year for "walking for a cause" due to her hip dysplagia and bad shoulder. She is 11+ now and mommy says her physical limitations need to come first. Mommy will try to carry on in her honor. Thank you for all the wonderful gifts you sent her, as well.

We love you all and can't tell you how amazing it is to have so much love and support. You are true friends....forever friends....We will love you forever and a day.

I love this quote....

"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words."

To all our special dogster and catster pals,

We want to wish you the best holiday season ever!! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love, kindness and peace you give to us so freely and add strength and happiness to our lives. We thank you for sharing the kindness of your hearts with us. We are truly blessed to have such awesome friends. You are our family and we truly love each and everyone one of you. One of the best definitions of love and kindness is below:

"Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver."

~authour unknown

Thank you for all you do. And now a special wish from us to you written by Kenneth Wyatt:

"Some wishes for you.....
May the coming of each sunrise remind you that
you have a whole new day to do with as you choose.
May your choices for the day include work,
learning, forgetting, play and rest.
May the chores of each day be met,
accomplished with ease, and excitement blest.
May the trials of each day be overcome with
sure wisdom and a simple faith on call.
May a tear of sympathy splash down on occasion,
but your grin of cheer be everyday for all.
May the strangers you meet everyday become
wonderful friends of tomorrows’ deeds.
May the friendship you give to others become
a part of the blessing that everyone needs.
May you live the secret of happiness, discovered
when you learn to help others win.
May you reserve a large serving of love,
especially for those who are “kiss and kin.”
May your health improve as you
need…. and in answer to your prayer.
May gentleness cross your path each day,
and may you pass it along with care.
May the coming of each sunset remind you that this day
was well-spent and nothing did you lose."

We wish you peace, joy, love, good health, and happiness this holiday season and we look forward to a wonderful new year spreading love and kindness to those who cross our pathes. Our hearts are forever connected by paws...

We love you, Sissy and Family

Oh Sweet Tedibear and Family, you are so special to give us strength, comfort and supportive love always. We thank you for your beautiful gift of friendship...that is the best Christmas gift of all....Okay here is how you play Christmas carefully:

This is what you have to do. Listen up because it’s different than usual. (think 5/5/5)

You have to write a letter to Santa Paws with 5 requests in your diary.

Then you have to give whoever tagged you 5 bones or treats.

Then tag 5 more cats or dogs.

Dear Santa Paws: This Christmas I wish for the following things:

1. The war to end, the fighting to end...the killing to end! As the song says,
"Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me..."
2. I wish for all those who are suffering to find the strength to endure...
3. I wish for Calli's mommy to get well and stay well...
4. I wish all my Dogster and Caster friends have the best holidays ever...
5. I wish for everyone to have a happy-healthy holiday season.

Love, Sissy

P.S. Santa Paws, I know I can only wish for five things, but I just had to add this one...I wish everyone finds the kind of peace, happiness and joy I have...I am on lucky girl...and I pray for my mommy's health to improve.

I Christmas Tag the following fur-friends:

1. Calli
2. Scooter
3. Lady
4. Bailey
5. Annie

2. I am Thankful I could help mommy, daddy and Jazzi get over the pain of losing Sugar and CheyAnne who are playing so peacefully at the bridge...

I love you all, Sissy

I thankfulness tag: Lady, Paws, Spy, Zeus, Sadie, Scooter, Astoria, and Noah!!

I love you!!! Mommy is putting down the words to a song which should make us all stop and think, it is is called For Good, by Wicked.

I'm limited:
Just look at me - I'm limited
And just look at you -
You can do all I couldn't do,
So now it's up to you
For both of us
Now it's up to you:

I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you:

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good

It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend:
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you:

Because I knew you:

I have been changed for good

And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the things I've done you blame me for

But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share

And none of it seems to matter anymore

Like a comet pulled Like a ship blown
From orbit as it Off it's mooring
Passes a sun, like By a wind off the
A stream that meets Sea, like a seed
A boulder, half-way Dropped by a
Through the wood Bird in the wood

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better?

And because I knew you:
Because I knew you:

Because I knew you:
I have been changed for good.

Thank you for touching our lives and changing us for the better....Love, Sissy and family

Well the Years went by and we had A Son
Now He Thinks He Found Someone for Him

We are walking....and walking...and walking....

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to remind each of you that mommy and I are walking for a cause on November 3. We are walking 3 miles for those with Alzheimers Disease. We are trying to help those who are no longer able to help themselves. Mommy is the director of an Alzheimers Unit and believes in helping those with memory loss live and die with dignity.

The donations are really down this year...not sure why. Mommy said something about the gas prices and the econmy. If you are comfotable and wouldn't mind spreading the word to those you know, we would greatly appreciate it. Mommy's donations are strictly earmarked for respite care, education, and assistance with meds.

My heart is forever changed by those with memory loss...please help me continue to help them...Sissy & I are walking to support Alzheimers Disease.

In a Gallup poll commissioned by the Alzheimer’s Association, one in 10 Americans said that they had a family member with Alzheimer’s and one in three knew someone with the disease. The number of Americans with Alzheimer’s disease will continue to grow and by 2050 could total 16 million people.

Please help make a difference by supporting me with a donation as I walk in the annual Alzheimer''s Association Memory Walk®. Funds raised at Memory Walk support varies areas to improve the lives of individuals living with Alzheimer’s and local programs for all those affected by the disease.

To get to our page you go to:

1. Go to

2. On the left hand side of the main page Click on Memory Walk

3. Under that page, scroll down and click on Choose a walk near you...

4. Pick November 3rd-Dallas

5. Then on that page at the top hit sponsor participant and then enter mommy's name Lezli Ragland or

6. you can also look for mommy on the far right hand side of the page and click that....please let me know if you still are expereincing problems. If this does not work, the best thing to do is email mommy at and she can go to the site and email the webpage to you directly.

We are in awe of all the wonderful support we have already received. Thanks so much for the kindness, generosity, and selflessness. WE GREATLY APPRECIATE ALL THE DONATIONS, HELP AND CONTINUED SUPPORT FROM YOU. PLEASE DONT STOP NOW!! We love you all. Thanks again, Sissy, Jazzi and Mommy.
