Our sweet friend is gone. No more wagging tail. No more shoes ripped apart. No more days relaxing by the pool with his furry little body curled up against me. Sunny is gone. Sunny just wasn't a dog. Sunny was a friend, my mother's second child. We took our beautiful Sunny to the vet today. He had another seizure last night. He's been diabetic because of steroids for his back problems. His back problems were cured by the Water Cure, however the steroids left him with incurable diabetes. He hadn't been able to keep food down for five days. His stomach didn't even show up on the X-rays because it had collapsed. The vet said that Sunny wanted to go, that most dogs would have given up, but Sunny was hanging on for us. So we let him go and returned home to pictures of Sunny everywhere, an empty dog bed, a leash coiled on the tiles where he had carried it, and a lot of memories and sorrow. Sunny, we will never forget you and you will always be loved and missed.
