It is with great sadness that we inform those of you who had befriended us, that we lost our sweet Dillon to pancreatic cancer on July 12, 2008. He is deeply missed by all of us.

We don't get on dogster much these days because of changes in our lifestyle. We have opted to remain a part of Dogster just because we enjoy checking out all the sweeties from time to time, even though we don't participate any these days.

My First Acrostic Poem

Today I finished my first acrostic poem. I hope it makes you smile.

Walking in the sunshine
Hearing nature's melodious sounds,
Always makes me ecstatic
To hear them when I make my rounds.

Marching, marching to and fro
Across the plush green back yard,
Keeping all the critters out of this place
Every inch, I pledge to guard!
Some may think I am crazy.

Many think I am sappy.
Everyone that knows me

Sees that guarding makes me happy.
My family loves to see me
In my beautiful fenced in space,
Looking at the squirrels and toads
Eliciting a smile across my face.

"Hog Dog", that's what Mom says my new nickname is gonna be. She says I'm getting too pudgy. She keeps saying that she and I need to go for walks because we're both getting too fat!

I can't help it! I like all that new food she's putting in those small little bowls. I have to eat it to keep that little brat of a dog, Nina, from eating it.

Meet Dillon the Westie

Hey DogPound!

Sorry, I've been watching too much Idol. I am really pretty laid back for a Westie, but I do get excited about squirrels. I also have to keep my brother Keefer in line, or at least I think I do. I growl at him for looking at me just to keep my bluff over him. We got a new sister just recently, a little chihuahua named Nina. I thought she was a rat or a squirrel at first, but after a couple of days of new dog shyness, she let me know that she is definitely a dog, a diva dog at that!

I pretty much just hang out here and guard the house from all possible threats. I like to sit in a lap sometimes early in the morning or late in the evening, then I go outside and bark at everything at night. If mom and dad take me to bed with them, I take a break from my guard dog duties.

I like the outside best. I spend a lot of time sunning and watching for those pesky squirrels. Sometimes I enlist the whippets in a game of "roll the Keefer". We pick on Keefer and roll him around. He doesn't seem to mind it too much. Other times Keefer and I just play together. If we get outside the fence without Mom or Dad, we go through the neighborhood exploring. We chase other animals and sometimes we get chased. Last week, we got chased by a couple of horses and when we got home, Mom gave us a bath and a haircut.
