Annie LOVES her brother Nicky, sleeping in the sun and relaxing in her kennel.
She is afraid of (but getting MUCH better) of hats, sunglasses, brooms and cameras. (It is VERY hard to take a picture of her)
She loves any type of "baby" to take care of
Hard pressed rawhide
She likes to explore and hunt
Annie was an abused single Mother. She gave birth to 9 puppies in the shelter. She was very protective and scared. They were going to put her and her babies down. A rescue came in and got her and her kids. All of her puppies are adopted, but Annie was very shy and scared. She was with her foster home for over 5 months. At adoption fairs, she would hide in the back of the kennel and not come out. UNTIL... Nicky and I went into the pet store to pick up some toys... Annie saw him, fell in love and came out of her kennel. Her foster family was in shock. Needless to say, because I was with Nicky.. she accepted me as well. She went home with us the next day.
It took a VERY long time for me to gain Annie's trust. It took almost a year before she would give me a kiss or take a treat from me. Now, 2 years later... she cuddles with me and is my baby... and I am her Mommy.
Sweet and lovable

When our Mommy came in, Nicky and Katie jumped all over her (like they normally do. I usually stay back and just aknowledge her, I like to keep my distance.
Mom sat down to spend some time with us and I surprised her by JUMPING into her lap and burying my head into her neck. I gave her a ton of kisses and then curled into a ball, right there on her lap! Nicky and Katie stood there with their mouth open - Mom looked shocked too. (I have been with my family almost 2 years and I have NEVER done this) I just recently gave my Mom a kiss for the first time. It felt so nice, to have my Mommy hold me. I didn't want to get off her lap.
Because of my past, I have a very hard time trusting people. The other day when Mom and I were alone (when she took me to get my hair done) she told me how much she loved me and that she would do anything for me, because I was her baby girl.
So... today... there we sat... she held me, hugged me and she cried because she was so happy that I got up enough nerve to show her how much I love her.

I saw Mom coming with the leash, that meant we were all going bye bye! I get a little nervous, but Nicky always takes care of me. The only problem was, I was the ONLY one getting a leash. I didn't know what to do, I was happy, excited, terrified...what to do?? Nicky!!! You ARE coming aren't you? MOM! What about Nicky and Katie???? We are a pack, the pack sticks together... we can't leave them!!!!
Mommy was mumbling something about a surprise for my birthday, I had no idea what she was saying, but I got in the car anyway. I could hear Nicky and Kate crying for me.
Before I knew it, we were on our way... I saw cars, people and lots of things. I tried to sit in Mom's lap while she was driving, but she said I had to sit in my own seat.
We ended up at a place called a beauty parlor. Mom knew I would be scared, so she took me to a place where I would be the only client and she wouldn't have to leave me very long. I got the royal treatment. They gave me a massage, facial and gave me a makeover. They made me beautiful!!!
They kept saying that I was such a good girl. Mom and I picked out some treats for my brother and sister. I was so happy to take them some gifts (even though it was MY birthday)
When we got home - Katie YELLED at me. She kept barking, "STRANGER, stranger on the property!!!!!" Nicky was laughing... he told her to smell my bottom and see who it was. (heh heh) She was a little embarrased, but she was right - I did look very different without my winter coat.
Overall, it was a good experience, I was able to overcome one of my fears and besides, I enjoyed my Mommy and ME time.
MAYBE I'll let Mom take a picture of my new 'do.
