Soul Patrol!!

Hello my friends!!!
I know that I have been a slacker in terms of updating, but to be quite honest - my life has been boring as of late.

My mommy's bday was this past Sunday, so we had a celebration and mmmm [doggie] cake. Other than that, though, I've just been spending my days playing, and eating. OH and watching AMERICAN IDOL.

I am SO stoked that TAYLOR won!!! I have been cheering him on since day one! You go Soul Patrol! I will be first in line to buy your CD ... well, my mommy might have to do it for me since I don't have opposable thumbs....

Oh one more thing....my mom keeps telling me that I am Elvis reincarnated. Silly mom! She and my daddy had some Elvis playing on the computer, and all of the sudden I stopped running my laps around the house and just layed down next to the speaker. Can't a girl like Elvis without having to be his reincarnated spirit? Jeez ... those humans... so silly sometimes!

Finally, my budding website. I have decided to become a Cyber-Emma in order to promote my desire to become a super star. It's still in the works - the website, that is! (http://www.freewebs.com/missemmatheboston/index.html)

Al right enough typing...time for a snack. Mmmm food. Food....maybe mommy will make me Matzah Ball soup tonight.....

Memorial Day Poetry

Hi friends!
Well I must say that I am a little busy right now (I mean come on - you think I just sleep allll day?) BOL, however, I just entered the Poetry Club's Memorial Day Poetry Contest, and wanted everyone to be able to share my entry! My mommy and I are amateurs at writing poetry, but we definitely gave it our best shot! Much love to all!

While President Johnson was the first to say,
“Let’s remember our soldiers on the 30th of May!”
There are dozens of people, who want to claim,
That they were the first, and deserve some fame.

Regardless of where it all began,
This day makes us proud to be an American.
For those who give this country all that they can,
Fighting over seas, in very foreign lands.

We remember those whom we have lost to war,
In the Army, Navy, or even the Marine Corps.
The forces are many – the soldiers even more,
Though the American Flag is what they all fight for!

We stand tall and proud for our heroes now lost,
Who protected our freedom and lives at all cost.
Our love and respect for them will never exhaust,
Even though into Heaven they have all now crossed.

Who is to say that this day is only for man?
How about remembering man’s best friend?
Our dogs have been our protectors since time began,
And by our sides they do always stand.

These dogs that we love are our comrades, too.
Together we all stand for the Red, White, and Blue.
Our best friend’s loyalty will always be true,
They protect our well-being through and through.

For those dogs whom we have lost through the years,
We every day still shed some tears.
And as this year’s Memorial Day nears,
We should remember our dogs with praise and cheers.

So this Memorial Day let’s try not to forget,
Those four-legged friends that were more than a pet.
As well as the soldiers – the lost and the vets,
That despite all the years passed, our love they will get!

Buenas Noches mi amigos!

Sorry I've been a little lax in updating ... I was too busy celebrating Cinco de Mayo! Woo for margaritas ... well, ok, maybe it was just bottled water - but a girl can dream, can't she?

Not too much has been going on... my mommy is working on knitting a sweater for me, but I think I am too fat to fit in it! She should have measured a little better!

Today was an AWESOME day though, my mommy and daddy took Cowboy Jack and I to Snyder Park in Fort Lauderdale. Guess what? They had a lake JUST FOR DOGS to swim in! There was a lifeguard and a "beach" (a lot of sand) and everything!! I had so much fun chasing the other dogs (I was the only little dog there, but I can hold my own with the big dogs - I'm the boss!). I was scared of the water though ... dad tried to help me learn how to swim, but there was no way that I was getting in a LAKE. Cowboy Jack, on the other hand, had a blast! He swam laps for almost an hour! I think he drank too much water though ... he's been peeing all day.... After the swim session mom and dad walked us over to the regular play area, but we had to leave soon after because supposedly mommy thought I was being too bossy with the other dogs, hmph! My disappointment was soon gone as we headed to the McDonald's drive thru ... I got a [plain] hamburger! Ooooh I was SO excited! Cowboy Jack and I napped allllll day after that (well except for when my mommy gave me a manicure - my nails are pretty in hot pink now!).

Whew I'm exhausted! Time for a midnight snack and then back to bed!

Buenos tardes mi amigos!
Long time no write! Wow lot's to say... well, sort of...

So let's see, Friday (4/28) was my grandma's birthday! So that was a fun celebration. I didn't get to go though, unfortunately - furry friends aren't invited into Thai restaurants. Hmph! So, later that night my mommy and daddy got into a huge fight! I was so sad and scared, I tried to hide the whole time. I thought mommy was going to scoop me up and take me away with her! But everything is ok now - thank dog!

Yesterday my mommy went shopping for Cowboy Jack and I....woo! She bought me a pink tanktop and a small white tee that says, "Little Sleepy Head" on - SO CUTE! Cowboy Jack got a green and orange t-shirt with some graphic on it ... very boyish I must say. I was so excited! I was running my circles around our house over and over and over again - and then she surprised us with something else! She had brought home a doggie bagel for Jack and I from Einstein's Bagels, I was in heaven. She definitely knows the way to this girl's heart (food and clothes!).

So onto new news....my mommy wants to take me to PetSmart to take a training course. I guess I'm up for making new friends and socializing, but I'm not so sure about the whole "sit" and "stay" thing ... but for my mommy, I'll do anything! I'll keep you posted on the whole school thing - mommy wants me to be a CGC one day so that I can go with her everywhere (well, almost everywhere)! She's also been excited about entering me in all of these different contests - hopefully I win something!

Before I sign out for the afternoon, I might be going to the beach this weekend! I've never been swimming - I hope I know how ... my mommy is going to be prepared with a life jacket or something, just incase. And after reading the forum posts, she'll probably cover me in sunscreen, too - so protective!

Well, my dainty paws are tired. I'm off for the afternoon!

Yo homies!
I am just listening to some of my favorite rap artists over here - getting inspired to produce my CD, if you will. Whew! So much to write about, where do I begin?

Well yesterday was pretty much your average Wednesday - I ate, pooped (BOL I said poop), ran in circles, got a bath, etc. I made my daddy mad though, because I decided to pee in motion as I was running to hide behind the couch. Oops.

So I watched American Idol with my mommy, daddy, and brother - thank goodness Kelly Pickler is off! I mean, don't get me wrong - she's cute and all, but she's no match for my mad rapping skills. Whatever, as long as Elliott stays for awhile I'm good.

I just joined the "Stich'n'Bitch" group here on Dogster - wow! I love it! So many doggie parents love to knit for their babies ... just like my mommy! I can't wait to see what project she starts next. You all should definitely join! Oh, more dogster news - I am in the top 10 to win a rosette under the feeling silly category on the forums - WOOO. I've been bragging to my brother allll morning. (maybe that's why he's so grumpy...)

Alright, well I am off to work on my new dance routine!

The TV Repairman-man-man-man-man....

Oy vay! What a day yesterday was!

So first of all, my mom and dad had to go to work - which makes me mad regardless of where I am! To make matters worse, my brother and I were in our new house all alone for the first time - we were a little nervous. So nervous in fact that I had no accidents all day - so not like me. Ugh I hope that I can warm up to this place - it's not quite smelly enough for my liking. In any case, dad came home on the earlier side (mom had to teach late) so at least I got in some play time with dad before the ... tv repair men came!

We were all a little bumming because our DirecTV was not installed on time! So the company sent two people out yesterday to get the job done. The company, however, must not have told them that they were going to a celebrity's house. They went crazy asking for my autograph (ok they didn't, but I know they were thinking about it), and all I wanted was for my Animal Planet to work! Well they were there for so long, which I guess I didn't mind because I got to go out on the balcony. I was so excited when the tv turned on that I started running [fast] circles around our home - I just couldn't stop myself! (my brother thought I was nuts...)

I am counting the days to my South Beach trip ... I still don't know what to wear! I don't know if I am quite bikini ready yet...maybe a few more laps around the house! WHEW all this typing is wearing me out (especially since I have no thumbs...). I think I'm going to go nap ... all day ... and then get a manicure.

iBuenos Dias perros! Miss Emma here (and as you can tell, my time in South Florida has enhanced my espanol!).... man it's been way too long since I last updated. Things have been hectic over here! My family and I moved to a new home!! I spent the weekend helping to set things up, testing out the carpet, and basically serving as the quality control personnel. Whew! A diva like me should NOT have to work this hard. In any case, things have somewhat settled down - except for the fact that I HATE the new grass - they expect me to do my business THERE?! What is a girl to do....

I am SO excited, my mom and dad and I are going to South Beach this weekend WOOO! That is a fashionista's most favorite destination! I need to start unpacking my clothes and getting my outfits together - any ideas?? I was thinking of going with pink, my usual go-to color. Well I am off to sleep...I had a busy day full of sleeping yesterday, I am exhausted!

Tuesdays With Miss Emma...

Hi friends!
Today was kind of a weird day. Last night, I was all curled up sleeping on mom's head (as usual), when all of the sudden my dad's alarm clock goes off - at 4am! I didn't know what the heck was going on...but I did know that I sure as heck wasn't getting up! Then dad got dressed and put a lot of clothes and shoes into a suitcase ... but mom was still sleeping - usually she's the first one out of the house! Well, it turns out that dad was just going on an overnight business trip to NY, so me and Cowboy Jack are alone with mom for awhile...not so bad I suppose :)

In any case, most of my day was spent watching Animal Planet while mom was working. Such a hard life I live...

Oh how I hate Mondays...

Hi friends!

I am so sad that it is Monday - my parents are at work and I am home with Cowboy Jack (a Jack Russell terrier that I call my brother). We play together, but I miss my mom! My parents surprised me with such a yummy dinner last night - chicken and veggies.. MMMM. I am waiting for them to make me more Matzah Ball soup - that's one of my faves! Speaking of food, I could sure use a snack...

In any case, I am really loving this site! I have made so many pup-pals so far! The groups and forums are so interesting, and the site helped my mom find out more about the ASPCA (she bought the whole family wristbands)!

Well I am off to go practice my dance routine (I have to practice everyday if I eventually want to be a superstar!) Wishing you all much Monday love!

Happy Easter!

Bark Bark my fellow canines!

What a day today has been! I woke my mom up early - I wanted to play!! We went outside for a bit, and then it was time for breakfast - I get cranky if I don't eat on time! I layed around for a bit while mom got dressed ... then she surprised me!! She scooped me up out of bed and we got into the car - I tend to get a little nervous in the car, but I was ok today... Mom and I stopped for some snacks at the gas station and we were off! After what felt like forever we finally got out of the car - and we were at the dog park!! I had never been to one before, so I wasn't sure what to do at first - but I caught on quickly. I wore myself out! Everyone loved the collar that Mom made me ... I'll have to post a picture of it on here later. In any case, I'm pooped from all of today's activities - time to go lay on the couch for a few hours!
