Arrival Story:
Abe came to us from the ESRA (English Springer Resuce of America). His mom was a Springer and dad a Newfie. He was part of a litter of 9 pups. Abe was not listed on the ESRA website with his siblings as they wanted to get a better picture to post of him (litter name was Bernard). The ESRA coordinator sent us a picture of him and we fell in love!! A group of volunteers from ESRA helped to transport Abe from Atlanta to Chattanoga, Chattanoga to Nashville where he stayed overnight with the other Lucy (pictured below w/o the pups)and then Nashville to Kansas City. We drove to Kansas City about 5 EXCITING hours from our home to meet the last leg of the transport team. I can still hear him walking down the hall with his dog tags jingling!! He is such a good guy even though we ended up sleeping on the floor by his kennel that night to keep him from crying and disturbing the other guest. The floor gave us aches and pains the next morning but it was well worth it. From the first time we saw him we knew he was well worth the wait. We took off the next morning to his forever home in South Dakota. He has just been a wonderful fun loving little guy!

Abe is a great guy and so very social. He goes to work with me in the afternoons and loves everyone he meets. Kiera (Mary) and Kennedy (Sasha)(you might have to click on see all my pup pals to see Kennedy's picture) are my sisters!!! Lucy (springer spaniel / puppies) is my mom and I am pictured somewhere in the pile of puppies with her! Hudson, Logan, Solomon (Low Ryder), Buck (Chicago) are also my brothers. Hopefully two of my other littermates, Snoopy and Tugboat (Green Peace), will be joining dogster soon!!! The other Lucy pictured allowed me to stay at her house during my travel to my forever home in South Dakota. 4/17/04 Abe weighed in at 27.5 pounds!!! 5/4/04 Abe weighed in at 33.4 pounds. 10/15/04 Abe weighs 44.6 pounds. 8/05 Abe weighs 48.7 pounds. 3/18/06 49 pounds 5/18/07 50.5 pounds

WOW, mama has been busy on the computer and this is the first time I have been able to get to it when she doesn't need it!

Lots has been going on. I have been to the spa a few times, well at least that is what they call it. I do meet a lot of other dogs there and the special treat I get is a bath and some trimming from Gwen! I love her and she loves me. I guess the only problem I give her is when she clips around the exit hole, I tend to sit down. Do you really blame a guy for that?

Tomorrow is Halloween. I have been helping with decorations at the house. Mama has put all sots of stuff on me to figure out what I will be for Halloween. Guessing I will be a Devil or have a knife stuck in my head. That is what I have been wearing around the house. I am not a big fan of those things but my moms insist! Oh, well, it will be fun seeing all the kiddos!

Is it spring yet?

Sorry it has been a while since I had an entry. Mom has been so busy on the computer that I have not been able to sneak in the den and type on it! Oh well, pretty much nothing new has happened. My mom's went on a big ship and left me at the spa. Not a big deal although I do miss them when they leave but I always ge special treatment at the spa followed up with a trip to the tube for a bath and some hair clippings. I get extra attention when this happens! I was glad when they came home. The weather is strange here this time of year. It can be in the 40s one day then 12 or below zero the next. I am ready for spring to roll in the grass and lounge in my backyard!

Not much going on. My mom's have been busy doing all sorts of things at the house and traveling so I have been to the spa twice in September. The first time in September I chewed up my bed and the second time I was a good boy. They tell me that I will not have to go to the spa for a while but we will see....I think I will hold them to it!

Sad note. I see my sister Kiera lost one of her family recently. I am so sorry little sis! : ( I see you have a new member to your family who has yet to be named! You will ahve to write soon to let me know what the black furball is like!....kind of looks like us when we were little!
