 Quick Bio:
Likes: wrestling with the late Nyx, retrieving toys & being a PetPal volunteer visiting elders

Pet-Peeves: separation, alpha females, ear cleaning, waiting in the car while Ben herds sheep

Favorite Toy: Any squeaky, plush toys or balls

Favorite Food: salmon or any other fish

Favorite Walk: Pope John Paul II Park & Houghton's Pond

Best Tricks: She barks "You got me!" and falls down dead when you point an imaginary gun and shoot at her.

Arrival Story: I adopted Vesta at age 6 months when her original owners could not cope with her severe separation anxiety. After a year of behavior modification and some medication, Vesta learned to cope reasonably with my absence.

Bio: Vesta's strong herding drive was finally put to work when she started sheep herding in September, 2003, at Sheepdog Junction in Middleboro, MA. As a result, she became a much more satisfied and happy dog. We funded her herding lessons through gourmet dog biscuit sales. Although these treats are her favorite foods (salmon, bacon, and cheese) she patiently lets the fresh biscuits cool on top of her crate and on the coffee table, always waiting to be offered a biscuit and never helping herself.

I just love my birthday! I woke up my human and brother to start celebrating at 3 AM. It's such fun to start the day with a special song!
Special treats, special toys, extra playtime, and then a bath so I could volunteer as a PetPal today.
I really enjoy visiting my elderly friends. Today there were 10 people who wished me a Happy Birthday, which had me grinning from ear to ear.
Since it was too hot and humid to romp outdoors, I was treated to special soft serve icecream and solo time in front of the a/c. This is the life!
I can't believe that I have to wait a whole year before it's my day again. Good thing Ben's birthday is coming up in less than two weeks. :-)

After nearly a month, Nyx has been having seizures twice a day since Sunday, and then not recovering enough to play with me. Mom and I are very worried. We thought that the human medications that Nyx started in April were working when we went 7.5 weeks without incident.... :-(

I'm the birthday girl! I can't wait for the celebration to begin!
I'm looking forward to some of the special salmon stars that
mother bakes for me. Hope that we can play ball outside today.
Even though I'm completely blind now, my new ball has a bell
in it so that I can sort of hear where it lands. Nyx helps, too,
and we have a blast!
