It doesn't seem possible that my little girl is 14! She has been with me since she was 3 1/2 months old!

We will be taking donuts and muffins to our friends at the Vet Clinic so they can help us celebrate!

Sophie made it to 13! There have been many times during the last year when I thought we wouldn't make it to this day. But despite arthritis in her spine and all four knees, as well as an immune mediated condition, she is like the little "Engergizer Bunny," and keeps on going! Her biggest problem now is some calcified tissue in her upper leg muscles. It really pulls when she bends her legs to lie down and is quite painful. Once she's down, she is more comfortable. She is on both Gabapentin and Codeine for pain, as well as prednisone and other meds to control the immune disease. She continues to be a happy little girl, loves her walks and rushes to greet me when I come home from work. She is a wonderful companion and I cherish each day I have her with me, knowing I will have to let her go all too soon.

Getting better slowly

Dr. Matt says me is getting better but I still have a ways to go. Now I take many, many pills. yuck! I have to take 150 mg of Tramadol for pain (3 pills), niacinamide (1 pill) and tetracycline (1 pill) all THREE times a day -- and 60 mg of prednisone (3 pills) once a day! And now me also takes something called a probiotic! TOO many pills!! My momma is getting pretty good and stuffing all those pills into one big spoonful of vanilla ice cream. I be VERY glad when I'm all better and don't have to eat all those pills. Momma can keep giving me the ice cream, tho. That be GOOD! :o)
