Nicknames: Pookin, Princess Pookin, Lela Pookin, Pookinator, Doggie Woggie, Bat Ears, Vulture Dog
Birthday: November 1st 1997
Likes: I am the queen of the household and enjoy being pampered and waited on. My human slaves exist merely to feed me, throw toys for me and massage, scratch, and love me.
Pet-Peeves: Humans and other dogs who don't seem to understand that they should bow down before me and kiss my cute little pristine paws. Rain. Baths. Staying home.
Favorite Toy: All of the toys are MINE. Put down the toy and back away slowly and no one will have to die. Jake, give me the toy. JAKE. JAKE!!! That's it! *chases after Jake and tears toy away from him* *runs* HA HA! You're too slow.
Favorite Food: I have sensitive skin and allergies, so my humans prepare a special meal for me. I seem to be allergic to grains and "hot" proteins. My humans finally found this food by Timberwolf Organics (Ocean Blue) that I get once in a while.
Favorite Walk: Walk?! I prefer to be chauffered about by my human slaves in the motorized luxury dog carrier.
Best Tricks: I am the proud owner of two "Planet Dog Orbee balls" which fit nicely in my "Paw Tracks tire-biter (large tire on a rope). I like to stuff the balls into the tire's center hole and then work on releasing them again - not as easy as it sounds!
Arrival Story: My human and Jake found me on the PBRC.net and came to meet me at a kennel where I was being kept - my previous human didn't want me anymore. I was pretty skinny and unhappy about not being able to sleep in a house on my own couch or bed. My ego was much lower then but it has bounced right back up along with my weight.
Bio: Now I spend my days lounging about like royalty. My humans provide these big soft fluffy things for my personal use - they call them couches and "their" bed but I know they all belong to me. I perch upon them and keep an eye on my human working away at the computer to keep my luxurious lifestyle up to par. WORK HARD HUMAN. I want new toys from Bark Natural Pet in Ballard!!
After adopting us, doing obedience and becoming more educated about my breed, my humans fostered for Recycle-A-Bull Rescue (formerly Three Bulldogs Rescue); their information can be found on PetFinder and PBRC.net or you can send us a Pup Pal request and ask for the link.
I started Agility with Seattle Agility Center on July 6th 2004!!! I don't really like it and don't think I'll continue on, although Jake loves it and wants to compete. I finished 101, 102 and advanced handling and competed in the Agilympics on December 4th, 2004, so mom says I can be retired now.
Don't believe all of the "pit bull" hype - do your own research on the breed. Human aggressiveness is *very rare* in our breed and should not, for obvious reasons, be encouraged. Please help stop the stereotyping and encourage education! Breedism is the pits. Some places to start for education are BadRap.org, PBRC.net, outofthepits.org, workingpitbull.com, pitbullpress.com and forpitssake.org. Thank you!!!
Forums Motto: Why yes, I do own the house and yard.
Broke another tooth. Probably from grinding my teeth of the stress of Jake always getting the attention lately.
Tooth surgery scheduled this week (it's not a bad break and isn't bothering me but it should still come out) in Eastern Washington. Hopefully the car ride over won't be hugely boring... no cats to chase. Or watch.
Jake seems to have taken over the house as the spoiled, pampered, babied dog. What is up with that??
Ok, I admit I was pretty upset when he left on Monday without me and didn't come back that night. I got sick and coughed up things on the floor. I stopped eating. I moped. But it was only because I didn't have my minion, Jake, to push around. It's not like I really like him or anything. But who would clean my ears if he was gone? Who would keep me warm by snuggling up with me? I know my human does both of those things, but it isn't the same.
Jake came back on Tuesday afternoon and smelled funny. He wouldn't play with me, he just went to sleep on the bed. My appetite immediately returned though.
He is still limping around and my human is putting him in the soft crate whenever she leaves. He can only go outside on a leash! Why all this attention? Just because he is limping? I don't get it!! Maybe I should start limping.
