SAD...

Today I see some white flecks on my Jack Russell’s face…

It’s been 5 years since I chanced upon that little rascal.
His eyes beckoned promise and commitment to a unique bond.
A journey through hope and struggle, laughter and tears.
… where LOVE blossomed everyday.

Five years but the little rascal is still at his earnest, never ceasing demand for anything he fancies.
… nothing has changed.

But the white flecks send reminders that he has but a few more years left with me… a fact I cannot change.
…the sadness, always so evident.

He looks at me with the same awe and understanding. I check myself in the mirror and… alas! I have white flecks on my head as well.
… we are growing old TOGETHER.

I smile and accept. The white flecks do no harm.

I love you Jack! Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!

LOTR day...

We didn't go to the fields for a month! Mom was busy and told us that we can only go about twice each month now because gas prices are so high (the fields are a couple of hours drive from where we live). Then she got a little sick, her ulcer came back and she was in bed for a week. Me and Phoebe kept her company and gave her extra little kisses. She kept telling us that as soon as she's better, she will take us - and that she did!

We went back yesterday to the grade school area of this huge university we always go to. We had the whole place to ourselves- the mini soccer field, the pocket gardens, the sunken garden with moss-covered rocks with so many trees, flowers, plants and you can hear exotic birds above flying from one tree to another- they drove me crazy! It was like a scene from Lord of the Rings (BOL). We also walked by the swimming pool and watched a couple of guys do a little Michael Phelps (big fan here)...

The weather was perfect for us. We always like it when there's a little rain and I ran like a maniac! I had too much energy yesterday and I loved it! Me and brother Max enjoyed the fields. Phoebe too but she's always looking behind for mom - always scared to lose sight of her. She brought our snacks but I liked her food better so she gave me some tuna sandwich : -)

Then we sorta felt cramped, we miss the wide open spaces of the high school area so we took a ride and ran in the fields again. I took a dip in the instant pools all over the place! I ran to the pond and was about to go in when mom saw something floating in the water - it was a dead frog. And it was huge! So she let out a scream "Jack No!!!" Mom is crazy - it's just a frog you know... I wonder how that tastes like…

It was getting a little dark so we packed up our things and said good-bye to the place. Hopefully I get to go again next week. I really love this place! Thanks mom :-)

With or without you...

My dear sister Phoebe,

Many times, I wonder why you are that way to me…
You like licking my ears… isn’t that a sign of submission?
But I don’t know how you managed to claim all my toys and my bed…
I share with you my food and snacks but I can never eat from your bowl…
I have to ask your permission if I can join you and mom in bed…

It’s obvious that you’re the favorite:
-Everyone greets you first and they kiss you and carry you in their arms while I settle for a pat on the head…
-When Aunt Kristine needs to buy something from the mini store, you get to tag along everytime…
-When mom makes an errand, she brings you as well…
-Anyone who comes for a visit, they give you a kiss…
-You get to sleep beside mom while I’ve made my own spot by her feet…
-You get jealous when mom kisses me…
-The camera is always aimed at you…
-Most of all, you always get the best part of the meat…

But you know what? I only have to think about the day you arrived in our home. That was the happiest day of my life! Because of you I became a better boy. I have someone to play with and hang around with. Mom doesn’t have to worry about me being alone again. And you make everyone else happy, specially mom!

I know why mom took you in… that’s because she loves me!

You're feisty, you're crazy, you're silly, you're YOU!

So go ahead and have all my treats and toys… you can sleep on mom’s head pillow… go take short walks without me… because without you, I will be a very sad boy…

Presents from my bestest pal Bailey!

Oh boy! For 2 weeks, mom has been telling me my bestfriend Bailey has sent me a gift. I understand what she's saying, I wag my tail everytime. Then mom received this notice from the post office last Friday afternoon but she all the way south with grandma so she missed it. This morning, mom told me again that she was getting up early to pick it up. I was sooo excited I kept wagging my tail.

After 3 hrs she comes back with this box and for some reason I know THAT was for me. I kept barking and begging for it. Then she runs up to the room and me and Phoebe followed and we were all so excited while she opened it. My bestest pal gave me a squeaky kong! I love squeaky toys!!! Squeak... squeak... I love it... squeak... squeak... Phoebe was confused. She also got a gift from sister Sophie but how come she likes what I like??? We tugged and pulled and growled at each other.... tough squeaky kong... I can't get the squeaker out!!! I love this!!!

I have been tagged so I tag you!!!

Wow I see there's a new game around and I love it. The downside is I really wanna tag each and every pup I know and adore. So for those that I'm not able to mention, please dont feel bad. Luckily, I have sister Phoebe to share the tagging with so that means 14 furry friends!!!

7. I'm not satisfied just seeing mom around me. I need contact. So I always sit and use my butt to touch her leg or arm or any part of her body for connection.

Please visit and sign the petition to help stop the dog meat trade in the Philippines. Those who sign will be supporting a House Bill currently pending in Congress to impose stiffer penalties against the dog meat traders. It is urgent that we obtain, at a minimum, 50,000 signatures by June 30, 2007.

The dog meat trade, once regarded as an infrequent religious practice, has become a commercialized industry that kills over 500,000 dogs a year! Although dog meat is not eaten by the majority of the Filipino citizens, it is considered a delicacy to certain areas of the country. The handling, treatment and act of violence to secure and sell dog meat is unimaginable and not for the faint of heart.

It is our hope that this community can rally together and sign the petition. We ask everyone to sign the petition, post in groups, e-mail friends and create the international public awareness needed to stop this practice. Thank you.

We will miss you Lana & Tasha

I feel bad that my pals Lana (Siberian Husky) and Tashi (JRT) have left Dogster. They're the best-looking pair we've seen - we all loved their pictures together. Their mom is busy with college and has no time left to manage their account. I still wish they didn't leave. Many doggies are members without ever updating their pages. They like signed-in and left. Hopefully we see them again here in Dogster.

We will miss you Lana & Tashi. Thank you for the stars and rosettes you gave to our family, but most specially- thank you for the friendship. We hope to chat with mommy soon!

The best times are yet to come...

After having been struck with typhoons and floods this year, the most recent one being last week, here we are re-decorating our home for the 2nd time to celebrate the holidays! I am so excited for my new presents, yes I know mom has kept new toys for me this Christmas, I've been doin alot of sniffin' and she has promised to get me a new bed this year to get me off the couch for good (as if).

I hope you like my new song by Mariah Carey. Its very fitting because I really do not wish for snow.... I already got my wish this year.... I got mom and my pals in Dogster!!! Thanks for everything!

The Holidays are here!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! I'm sure a lot of my pals will be drunk with their bellies heavy with turkey meat! Hmmmm.... yummy! That's alright, I'll get my share on Christmas Eve.

The Holidays are here. Mom has put up our christmas tree last night and it was fun grabbing all those decors and running away with them! Mom kept yelling at me saying I'm worst than a human kid! We also had a guest over and when mom opened the gate I zoomed out of the street! Mom yelled at me and said "Jack, why do you do this to me??? Oh you're gonna get it when you come back!!! I'm not running after you!!!" For some reason I understood her so I came running back inside the house and didnt get any spanking : )

The Holidays are really here. Mom has pimped my page for a new look (still needs a little more tweaking) and wonderfully, thankfully, she has changed our music to our themesong: "I've Got You Under My Skin" by Michael Buble. Couldnt find the one of Frank and Bono's so we're settling for this. Its pretty good anyway. A special thanks to my bestfriend Bailey for sharing the link (mom was scared of copyright laws). So there.

I'm looking forward to the many, many photos of my pals taken during Thanksgiving. I'll check out your page one by one.
