The rescue group that I came from, STARS of North Texas, made up the plaque that you see above for their trailer.

It says:

In memory of Gracie Hughes...

Let us not mourn the passing of Gracie Jane, but let us celebrate the time we were privileged to have her with us before she passed and all the wonderful memories she has given to us.

To Sharon and Bill Hughes who gave Gracie the best years of her life.

Mom's crying now, so she'll finish this later.........but what a wonderful tribute and gift from such a wonderful group.

Tails from Rainbow’s Bridge by Gracie Jane

This is Mrs. Gracie Jane Gribbon writing all the way from Rainbow’s Bridge. (It's a miracle! Yes, we can type here!)

All I can say is what the heck!!!!?????? I wanted to be a bridesmaid at my brother Angel Tucker and Angel Clover’s upcoming wedding, but HEY, I really did not want to be in “personal attendance” nor get a one way ticket to the Rainbow’s Bridge! Helllllooooooooooo!

I just had my senior wellness exam in the Fall and I passed with flying colors. My heart was poifect, my lungs were poifect and all of the rest of my major organs and levels were poifect. I was as fit as a girl ½ my age! Well, one bad body part can ruin your whole day people! Go figure that my trachea would suddenly collapse in such a way that surgery was not an option. Ugh! It’s always something isn’t it?

Admittedly, being with Tucker, Clover, Cherokee, Pebbies, Winnifred Wigglepants and Griffy and all of our Bridge friends again is the best by far and the Rainbow’s Bridge All You Can Eat Buffet is all that Tucker said it would be. All animals are here. It’s amazing! So many goldfish! Tucker says they come from flushed toilets, but I’m not sure if he’s kidding or not.

Here’s what I miss already:

Mommy, Daddy, Meemo, cat chasing, my wonderful Doggie McDreamy husband Gibby and his sister Mia, (Oh, did I tell you Gibby, that you can never remarry? I will haunt you if you do! BOL!!! Just kidding, but at least wait a respectable amount of time if you do remarry. Our puppies need a good Mom. God knows I could never keep track of them.) I miss Tinker, Sassy, Muffin, Jezzie, Rusty, Georgie U, Georgie and Jackson, Daisy Mae, Gilby, Gunner, Jay-Jay, The Roo Crew, Charlie, Morgan, Nugget, Daisy Mae, Piper and Duke, The Fab Conway Sisters, The Tator Tots, Jeannie, Kitai, Murphy, River, Shiloh, Rudy, Maddison and all of my friends in my groups & the forums.

I miss my fabulous wardrobe too and Federal Express will not deliver my clothes to Rainbow’s Bridge! That’s the last time they’ll ever see my business! Yeeshola!

Now, not only am I running for Rainbow Bridge Mayor, but I’m opening the Rainbow Bridge Boutique for the sophisticated pet…..goldfish too! (I will have designer fish bowls for them! BOL!) Turtles can have their shells manicured too!

I am running for Mayor against the original Lassie and Seabiscuit. I probably don't have a chance, but what the heck right?

Wowee Zowee! All of the pictures of me and for me and the strolls, memorials, candles, p-mails, rosettes and special gifts are overwhelming! To say that I love you all would be a terrible understatement. There are no words to reflect my feelings for all of you at this time. I do thank you all so much for all you’ve done and all you’re trying to do to help Mommy and Daddy feel better. Helllooooooo, Poo-Head Meemo, a little sorrow for me here! You took over my side of the bed a little too fast bubby! At least act like you’re looking for me. A peek here and there wouldn’t kill ya!

Okay, well I have to go to orientation now and pick up my free passes to come to the After Hours Club parties and stuff. Momma says she loves you all and it goes without saying that I do too! Momma unfortunately has to get back to studying for her second week of school…I want a smart Mommy you know, but she says that when she feels better she wants to thank you all individually for all you’ve done. Love and smooches from The Bridge!

I was so excited to wake up to find that Dogster chose me to be "Dog of the Day" today! I'm doing my special happy dance right now!!

I knew something was up when I saw all my brand new and beautiful rosettes from well wishers. Not to mention all the wonderful PPR's!! That's the best part, all the new friends I get to meet!!

I'm going to go read my rosettes now and thank every single doggie for being so sweet to me today. It makes me feel real special. : )

Thank you Dogster for picking me today and thank you everypup for making me feel like such a special girl today. : )

I've been tagged!

I have been tagged by my husband Gibbon and my cutie patutie friend Sassy! Below are the rules of the game if I've tagged you:

(Hint: Copy and paste the rules so you don't have to type them again):

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

1. I get Mom up every morning at 3:30 for a snack and potty! (She hates that!)
2. I spin and jump in the air when it's naptime and bedtime. (Gee, do you think I like to sleep maybe?)
3. When I know Daddy's in the potty, I shove the door open with my whole body and sit on his feet till he picks me up.
4. I'm a Daddy's Girl all the way!
5. I like baths but refuse to swim in the pool.
6. I eat a special protein diet because I'm allergic to everything else on the planet.
7. I may be deaf but since the day I got here, somehow I know when Mommy and Daddy get home and I greet them at the door with a special dance!

And the pups I choose to tag are:
1. Poquito http://www.dogster.com/dogs/232382
2.TJ http://www.dogster.com/dogs/475560
3.Jack Goodman http://www.dogster.com/dogs/414205
4. Rhys http://www.dogster.com/dogs/303513
5. Madison http://www.dogster.com/dogs/417820

My Brother is gone and I can't find him.....................

On Thursday morning me, Mommy, Daddy and Tucky went to the vet together. Tucky got a shot and fell asleep but I was so scared and squirmy just being at the vet that I really didn't pay attention to my brother.

He didn't come home with us! I'm looking and looking and I can't find him. I've even looked in places that I didn't know about. I went under the bed for the first time and Tucker wasn't there. I went behind the TV stand and Tucker wasn't there. I looked outside for him last night and couldn't find him there either.

I'm very confused right now and wish I could find him. : (

It was hard, but I did it!!

It was hard, but I did it! When Mom got me, I was a perfect 7 pounds. In the Summer I gained weight and got up to 9.4 pounds and the doctor said to start walking as soon as the weather got cooler. Well, this last Friday I was finally an even 8 pounds!!! I did good! I'm so proud of myself. My doctor says that 7-8 pounds is good for me and my size, so I'm happy.

Pooped and out of shape.

We haven't walked all Summer because of Tucker's heart condition and because it's been 100 or over most days. Well tonight we had to go look for our doggie friend who went missing. He loves me and Tucker so we went out looking for him hoping that he would find us. Tucker did great even with his heart condition and I was just so out of shape!!! Mom and Dad had to take turns carrying me most of the trip. I guess I'll have to work my way back up to the mile that I was walking in the past all by myself.

My first sunset cruise

Oh boy, I had my first sunset cruise last night and boy did I have fun. I didn't get sick either! I made a new friend named Sally Sue and we got along swimmingly! (No pun intended....BOL!) Now if I could just get Mommy and Daddy to buy the family our own boat I'd be set! (Momma gets motion sick just thinking about it! Ha ha!)

Good Grief!

Brother Tucker had to go to the vet twice yesterday because his pee-pee wasn't coming out and when it did it was red! I went with him for moral support cuz I love him and then all of a sudden after my evening meal, Momma grabs me, tosses me in the car (buckles me in of course) and off I go to get a shot. I hate shots. Well this one made me vomit! All that good food wasted. Can you imagine? I'm a Southern girl and you just don't waste food. I felt fine, so I don't know what the fuss is about. Apparently Mommy and Daddy got mine and Tucker's food switched and we got each other medication. Mine is no big deal, but I got Tucker's heart meds and the equivelant of Vicodin! Anyhoo, Momma says to tell everyone that according to the emergency room vet, one has an hour to get junk out of a tummy that you wouldn't want digested. Good info. (I was watching Mommy drive and the little hand on the dial got to the number 70-mph's so I don't think there was any danger in my digesting anything at the speed she was going.) Tucky is better today, so that's all that matters to me. Bye, bye!

Meeting the Medina Puggy clan.

Mommy took me to Aunt Nancy and Uncle Carlos' house last night and I got to finally meet my puggy cuzins! They were so gracious and treated me so nice! Let's see, there was cuzin Howie who wanted me to play at first, but I'm too old for that stuff. Then there was cuzin Java who was so sweet and gentle with me. Then my favorite puggy cuzin, Winnie. Her and I wore our best duds and followed her Daddy around begging for food. Aunt Nancy is so pretty and Uncle Carlos can cook a mean burger! And who knew that dip could be made out of beans! That was really good! I'm adding some pictures of my special night to my site here. Take a look! Tucker had to stay home but he's doing fine. We didn't want to excite him too much.
