Favorite Toy:
hmmm... i love my squeaky monkey, squeaky platypus, and my football

cheese, pretzels-- i'll try to eat pretty much anything that drops on the floor

Favorite Walk:
around the neighborhood or anywhere near a park or where i can get lots of attention

Best Tricks:
i'm adorable... am i supposed to do tricks, too? i FINALLY learned how to shake!!!

Arrival Story:
dad went to visit my litter when we were 8 weeks old. when he got there, 5 of my siblings went to sleep. i was the only one who stayed awake and begged for attention. i think that's why he picked me (i really stayed awake because i picked him, too).

i have an equally crazy brother named dino. we met at an italian greyhound gathering in poway, california. as soon as i saw him coming towards the park, i knew he was my brother. his mom and my dad talked a while and they discovered that we were born on the same day and came from the same place. kismet!

i just found out that the dog that attacked me on christmas eve had to be put down. no one knows why she attacked me, but in the past 3 months, she had gotten agressive with several other dogs and even nipped at the baby in the house. they just couldn't take any chances that she would injure or kill. i'm so sorry, ella. please know that i don't blame you and never harbored bad feelings against you. i wish you peace at the rainbow bridge.
it's a sad day.

i got stitches for christmas this year.

dads went to los angeles for christmas and dropped us off with our auntie julie on christmas eve (she's the breeder where we both came from). as soon as julie brought us home and got me out of the car, her daughter's dog came out of no where and grabbed me by the neck and shook me around real good. she tore quite a bit of flesh and made a bunch of bruises and punctures. i had to spend the night at the emergency room and got at least 15 stitches. there's still a drain tube in my neck which should come out tomorrow.
i'm in decent spirits, although i hurt a lot (on pain pills and antibiotics) and my stitches should come out in a couple of weeks. i look a bit like a frankenpuppy right now, but at least i'm alive. luckily, she missed all the vital parts of my neck, barely missing my main artery by a couple of millimeters.
the dog that got me doesn't like mona and i always have to play the 'big brother' role to defend her. this time the other dog didn't even give me a chance. it's not a good way to spend a christmas eve, let me tell you. dad's gonna post some pictures in the next couple of days.
now, we have nothing against any dog breed, and this is just stated as a point of reference: the dog that got me is a pit bull mix, so you know how powerful those jaws can be. we've known this dog for a couple years and she's a bit aggressive, but this is the first attack that we know of.
i have a vet appointment tomorrow, so hopefully i'll get some good news. i'll keep you posted.

another year older. another year wiser?

well, first let me say that i love being a dog. i can't believe another year has passed, but i'm still every bit the puppy that i was when dad took me home.
things i have learned over the years:
1. you can never have too much time at the park playing ball.
2. little sisters are pretty rad, even when they jump in your face all the time.
3. i know my dads love me.
4. comforting a daddy when he's sick is very rewarding.
5. stuffed toys are better when you un-stuff them.
6. exercise is wonderful for dogs of any age.
7. whenever possible, try to sneak into the bed.
8. it's your job as a dog to inspect all food that the humans are about to consume to make sure it is of the highest quality.
9. give your parents the saddest look if you feel that they left you alone in the house too long. (but don't hold it against them too long, since you know that you are happy to see them, too!)
10. riding in the car usually means you're going somewhere fun.

i hope these words of wisdom help! happy birthday to me!
love and wags,
