It's been a long time since I've updated my diary, summer has come and is about over now. We've had some good times and some bad times this summer. I'll tell you about one of the worst times. At the end of May, my brother, Sammy Jo, who will always be my very best buddy, got really sick. I mean, he was taking medicine for a long time but now he got worse. He coughed a lot and had a hard time walking at the dog park. One day at the dog park mom thought he was right behind her but when she turned around he was way way behind and just sitting. Mom went back and picked him up and carried him for awhile. After that mom and dad got him a stroller. He loved his stroller and was so proud when he was riding in it. I was happy for him because he wouldn't have been able to go for walks anymore with me and mom and dad. Then on June 4th, my best buddy passed away. Mom cryed and dad was so sad. I was sad too and just layed around the house. I didn't feel like playing. Mom and dad were worried about me and took me places, I tried to enjoy the dog park but I never was there without Sammy Jo. I still miss him so much and I know mom and dad do too but I am doing better. On June 14th, in Sammys honor we got a new brother. His name is Sarge and he's a 2 year old Japanese Chin. Mom and dad were so hoping that Sarge and I would become good buddies but, as much as I like Sarge, he will never be Sammy. I play with him sometimes, and sometimes we fight too, something that Sammy and I hardly ever did. Mom and dad call him Sarge Sammy Jo. They said that because of Sammy, Sarge got the chance to have a forever home, so Sarges middle name is Sammy Jo. As for the rest of the summer, we've spent many hours at the dog park and we went camping a couple of times. Mostly we just spent time with mom and dad and that's what we like doing the best. Well, I'm pretty tired tonight, we went to a birthday party today, mom and dad said we were invited to go along this time and we had a good time playing out in the yard and going for a walk out in the country, but all the fresh air has made me sleepy so I think I'll go find my bed and get snuggled in for the night. Good night all......Toby Jo
Well, I keep telling mom I need to update my diary. I know not much exciting has happened but we made it through winter. Even though it's still cold out and we just got a lot of snow a few days ago, mom says it's spring now and we can go back to the dog park! Mom and dad have been taking me and Sammy and you wouldn't believe the MUD! Of course mom and dad hate for me to go through the mud and my brother Sammy is so afraid of getting dirty but I love mud! Oh yeah, we had to go to our vet to get ready to go back to the dog park and guess what?? You will never believe this but she said I am FAT! She said I gained some weight over the winter and need to go on a diet! Can you imagine? Me fat? Me....on a diet? I don't think so!! Well, gotta go see if mom or dad will give me a treat............Toby Jo
We just got home yesterday from a camping trip. Mom and dad are both on vacation so we went camping for 4 days. It was a lot of fun. Dad and mom took us for a boat ride, I love to ride in the boat and go fast! It's fun to look out and watch the boat going through the water. I stand up on the seat so I can see better. They took us for a long walk on the trails and mom took us up a sand dune, we took the stairs all the way to the top. We could see lots and lots of sand and trees and Lake Michigan from up there. My favorite time was when dad held me on his lap at night by the campfire and I fell asleep. Camping was a lot of fun but it's so nice being home and sleeping in the big bed again without having a tie out hooked to our collars, and today mom and dad took us to the dog park. We love having mom and dad home all week, it gets lonesome when they have to go to that place called work. Mom is calling, it's time to go to bed.............Love, Toby Jo
