Ham and cheesy potatoes-Easter Sunday, Wyandotte, MichiganApril 15th 2009 8:40 am[ Leave A Comment ] It's not often mom gets to cook for me now that we live with grandma and grandpa but this past Sunday was her big chance. For dinner she made me ham with a sweet glaze, cheesy potatoes, green beans, corn, rolls, stuffed celery and a refreshing salad. The ham was cooked to perfection, allowed to warm for 2 hours, then reglazed and heated at a higher heat for 15 minutes. This locks in the glaze's flavor and makes the edges crispy. I, for one, found this to be delicious. The making of the cheesy potatoes was supervised by none other than yours truly! Mom took great pains to use only the freshest ingredients. She peeled the potatoes herself, washed them, boiled them and mixed everything like she was making them for her own family. Wait a minute, she WAS making them for her own family. Onion, garlic, sour cream, cheese, cream of chicken with herbs soup, combined in just the right amounts to send a shiver down your spine! I think the potatoes and ham were a ploy to get a good review out of me! The only bad thing, which will prevent my mother from receiving 4 out of 4 paws from me, was that grandma made deviled eggs. There was not near enough mayo in them, I found them to be a bit dry and pasty. Mine was thrown to the floor. I also found a piece of shell in it. Thanks to grandma's missteps mom will only be getting 3 out of 4 paws. Gotta go for now, I'll try to write more later. My mom has a new partner in her office and it makes Dogster-ing a little bit difficult. But if I have to go there and have a "little word" Louie-style with him I will. I WILL NOT BE KEPT FROM MY FRIENDS!!!! PEACE!!
By the wayApril 9th 2009 1:22 pm[ Leave A Comment ] The picture of me and mom that was requested by the beautiful, sweet Sunny Lee should be on my page by Monday. Madame President refused to have her picture taken with me until after she went to her eyebrow waxing appointment yesterday. Again, Happy Easter and PEACE!!!
Can you believe it???April 9th 2009 12:51 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Mom says I'm spoiled. Spoiled. Me! Just because when grandma makes me an egg salad sandwich on Wonder Bread I refuse to eat it until the bread has been toasted. I hardly think that makes me spoiled. Discerning maybe, but not spoiled. Why shouldn't I have my meals exactly as I want them? I am the baby after all! Anyways, I would like to wish all of my friends a Happy Easter! Love you all (especially you, Sunny Bunny). I have a feeling there will be a review of ham and cheesy potatoes on Monday!!!! PEACE!
Sausage biscut-Tim Horton'sApril 7th 2009 1:39 pm[ Leave A Comment ] My wonderful mother purchased me a tasty little treat this morning: a sausage biscut from Tim Horton's. The sausage biscut is exactly what it sounds like, sausage on a biscut. But a Tim Horton's sausage biscut takes it to a new level. The biscut is buttery, crisp but not burnt, still soft inside. The sausage is juicy, you can tell it has not been sitting around under a lamp forever drying out. Unfortunately, while the sausage biscut is delicious, especially if you accompany it with 2 Tim Bits, the service is slow and a bit surly. 2 out of 4 paws.
Scrambled Eggs and Hotdogs-Grandma's House, Wyandotte,- MichiganApril 3rd 2009 5:55 am[ Leave A Comment ]
Scrambled eggs and hot dogs are a complex dish. First, you must make sure the hot dogs are cooked before you put them in the scrambled eggs, and then the eggs have to be cooked just right: not runny, but not burnt either. The scrambled eggs and hot dogs at Grandma's house were devine, hot dogs perfectly cooked and then fried a little when mixed with the egg, the egg scrambled until it is yellow and not runny, but not brown. Seasoned perfectly with just a dash of salt and pepper. The service at grandma's house is phenomenal, you sit on grandma's lap and she feeds them to you, all the while telling you what a good boy you are. After your meal there is a chaisse lounge approximately 3 feet away that is perfect for a full belly nap!!! I give it 4 out of 4 paws!!!!!

Grandmas=GoodMarch 27th 2009 5:52 am[ Leave A Comment ] This morning, as my mom was getting ready for work, I was watching TV with Grandma. She says "Louie, what's that? I see a doggie." I leap to the window, the neighbor girl is walking her dog. I fly into a rage, he knows better than to cross in front of my house. Mom says, "Lou, it's 7:00 in the morning, Uncle Dave and Grandpa are still sleeping, KNOCK IT OFF!!!" Grandma says, "Leave him alone, it's his job to protect the house." And then gives me some back scratches. I love that woman, I have her wrapped around my little paw!!
Mean mom, part 12,098,245March 26th 2009 11:48 am[ Leave A Comment ] Today at lunch time, Miss Precious (mom) had to take a nap. While she was napping I was guarding the house. A woman jogged by, she looked shifty to me so I screamed bloody murder at her, telling her to move along and mind her own business. About 30 seconds later mom comes stomping down the stairs and says to me, "Hey a$$hole, why don't you come up by my bedroom door and bang some pots and pans too???" I thought it was an odd request but I guess I could if she wants me to. I said "OK mommy, anything you want." Then she said "Shut up Lou." That woman, she never appreciates anything. In unrelated news, did everyone see my Sunny Bunny? Pretty cute, huh?
Chicken Snacker-Kentucky Fried ChickenMarch 26th 2009 7:10 am[ Leave A Comment ] One would think that it sounds simple enough to be boring: a chicken strip on a bun. But let me tell ya' folks, the Chicken Snacker at Kentucky Fried Chicken is anything BUT boring!! First of all, the strip they use is the "original recipe", 11 herbs and spices sent directly from heaven and onto a piece of chicken, what's not to like!! Then, they put it on a fresh, soft bun, a little bit of lettuce, and here's the kicker: spicy ranch dressing. I can't quite put my finger on the spice but there is something in the ranch that gives it the added kick you need to turn your ordinary chicken strip into the KFC Chicken Snacker. Located on the 99 cent menu, it is not only delicious but affordable!!! 3 out of 4 paws!! Get out there and get yourself one, PEACE!!!
Frank's Pizza, Wyandotte, MichiganMarch 24th 2009 12:32 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Frank's Pizza has been a Wyandotte establishment for over 50 years. When you walk in to Frank's you realize that the decor hasn't been updated in about that long. The tables wobble, the booths are uncomfy, and there is a fountain with change in it from years of wishes. If you only have a half hour to eat Frank's is not the place for you, the service is slow and frankly, not the best. But the pizza, oh my god, the pizza is to DIE for!!! Thin crust, not overly saucy, perfect amount of cheese and pepperoni so greasy it curls up and forms little grease cups on top of the pie!!! Perfect for a little dog with a stomach that can handle that amount of grease!! I give it three out of four paws! Three because whenever you call and place a carry out order they say "25 minutes". You go there in 25 minutes and you stand and wait, and wait, and wait. Gotta go, nap time! PEACE!!
