Today I went for my weekly appointment with Dr. Curtis, my holistic vet. Since I got the itchy dog blues this summer thanks to allergies, she's been keeping me relatively itch free with acupuncture. I love Dr. Curtis. She may poke needles in me every week, but she also gives great belly rubs while the needles are doing their work.

So today we go to Integrative Pet care as usual and, as usual, the techs and Patient Coordinators fawn over me and give me lots of scratches and belly rubs. My weight today: 10.8lbs. Anywho, so we go back to the exam room and a woman walks in. I didn't recognize her- she's not one of the techs, not one of the PC's, and most definitely NOT Dr. Curtis. She said her name was Dr. Flaherty, and she was going to be doing my acupuncture today because Dr. Curtis was on maternity leave. What does that mean?, I asked Mom. Mom explained that that meant Dr. Curtis had a baby. WHAT?? I said. I'm the BABY! I'M THE BABY! Mom said Dr. Curtis had a little baby girl named Kennedy, and that some day I'll get to meet her. But for the next 6 weeks I'm going to be seeing Dr. Flaherty or Dr. Mayer.

Dr. Flaherty was very nice. She poked me with the needles, and when I instructed her that Dr. Curtis always rubs my belly when the needles are inserted she gladly obliged. But she's still not Dr. Curtis!

Dr. Curtis may be gone, but my friend Snowy is coming to visit next week! I can't wait! We've been pals for 2 years and he's even modeled for my store, but we've never met in the fur before!
