Arrival Story: In college, I wanted nothing more than a dachshund of my very own. I was moving halfway across the country for school and living alone, and desperately wanted a furry little friend to keep me company. For awhile I applied to every rescue that had a dachsie-in-need that fit my lifestyle and energy level. Time and time again, I was turned down for various reasons. To some, I was too young to take on the responsibility, to others my lack of a backyard was a problem; some disliked the presence of stairs, some didn't like my student status. And the list goes on...
Finally I started interviewing breeders. Most of them were very interested in getting to know me better, checking up on all my references, and strenuously interviewing me to determine if I'd make a good home. I was approved by most of them for a puppy, but I settled on a couple in Kentucky who had a wonderful reputation and glowing recommendations. My dad went with me to pick him up, fell in love, and ended up getting Rondo's brother as a Christmas gift.

Bio: Rondo's full name is "Rondo Capriccioso ML." He is incredibly popular--his social calendar puts mine to shame. We're active members of the Raleigh-Durham Dachshund Meetup Group, participate in most of the shelter fundraisers (dog walks, dog washes, etc.), and love to explore the numerous parks in the Raleigh-Durham area.

What does my name mean?: When I was a pup Mom was stumped...none of the names she'd thought of before I came home worked. Then one day I was napping while my classical-pianist mom listened to CD's. Suddenly this amazing piece came on! I jumped up from a deep sleep to find out what it was, dancing all the way. Well, it was a piece by Mendelssohn called "Andante and Rondo Capriccioso" and I was the embodiment of a Rondo (the musical form is my motto!).
Background Credits:: Tennis balls in the sky....custom made for me!
Rondo Soda: Thanks to the Roo Crew for clueing me in on my brand of carbonated sweetness!
