Arrival Story:
Pure bred English Bull Terrier came from breeder who did not take care of his dogs, so we felt almost a rescue situation. Tank is our best buddy, as he took the place of our previous bullie (Sam) who crossed the rainbow bridge at 13. He loves kids and older folks, any kind of people. Tank loves our 9 year old grandson (who weighs only 60lbs) and both his "grandmas", ages 89 and 73 weigh just more than Tanker. Tank's favourite color: WHITE. Tank's favorite song: "Don't Hate me 'Cause I'm Pretty!"

Bio:
99 lbs of Bull Terrier! Housebroken, no tricks, not a rocket scientist, but very sweet boy! Loves to go for rides in the car. 99 pounds of Bullie, one of the biggest bullies we have seen, many bull terrier defects due to inbreeding of his bloodline by breeder. Loves tummy rubs, trances like many bullies,.... "trancing" and playing chase with booda bones is his favorite hobby. Loves "his chair", really really likes animal crackers! "Trancing" is a thing some English Bull Terriers do (our first bully did not trance), in which they stick their head into a potted plant, and seem to go into a trance, they either stand perfectly still, or move extremely slowly. It seems to give them pleasure! Trancing can also occur under hanging clothes, table cloths hanging off the dining table, etc. It is really funny to watch, but the dog seems to enjoy it, like his own version of "happy hour" at the end of a long work day! I do not know if other breeds do this, but it is fairly common among English Bull Terriers. Named "Tank" by my wife, who noticed he does resemble an Army Tank. This works out well, as General George S. Patton was a tanker in WWII, and owned a white bullie named Willie. "Hucklebutts", "Froglegs", Bully Tuck, and Trancing he has down pat. Three year old child in a dog suit!

Well, since last time, Sage bite my ear and I had to have three staples put in my ear to hold the skin together....the cut was maybe an inch and half long. it healed real quick though..as I am TOUGH. Then I got an ear infection in both ears, and Poppy took me to the vet last Saturday morning and I luv the vets. The nice lady vet gave me pills and ear wash to make the itchy ears go away. I felt better within 5 hours. Poppy was on a roll and he gave me an indoor bath, nice and warm and soapy and I was all clean. even got some smell good perfume and we took a nice nap afterwards cause we were all tired.
I weighed 95 pounds at the vet last weekend. Sage is fine, her normal tennis ball chasing self...of course. Poppy says 6 more months and he is going to do some special stuff that we dont' understand....called retirement whatever that is.

Well Poppy took me to the vet and the vet took tests and I stayed overnight there at the vet, getting fluids interveniously and resting my innards....next day at noon Poppy came and got me and brought me home. I am doing fine now, but did bleed some for three or four days, but it slowly went away. We do not think it was poison but some odd kind of illness. Could even have been a piece of dry dog biscuit that stuck my tummy or intestine...no one seems to know. Fortunately Poppy had scheduled 2 wks vacation and I have been staying inside and being pampered for over a week now. I am very much back to normal, so thanks to everyone for all the get well cards and phone calls, thanks to President Bush and Laura for the nice card, also thanks to Willie Nelson for the roses and get well card he sent, and to Doris Day for the lovely bouquet of flowers and liver snacks she sent. Bless all my adoring fans!

I am sick!

On Tuesday mum noticed a little bit of blood on my rear after my evening constitution. On Weds night when Poppy and Mums got home from work, I had some loose stool and blood on my rear. Looking at my poops they saw a bit more blood in the stool. AFter I ate about half my normal food i went poopy and had a tad of blood, then about 15 minutes later I passed a large amount of blood from my rear. Mums and Poppy were upset and called the vet who had closed 30 mintes earlier. I lay on some old torn up towels in the house and accidently passed a good deal more blood without even knowing it about 9pm. So mums and poppy made my round dog bed up for me on the floor, covered it in old blankets and old torn up towels in case there was another discharge, and we would wait until morning when the vet opened and be there at 7:30 when the door opened.
Poppy got a pillow and his blanket and slept on the floor next to me all night, patting me and keeping me company.
Thursday we saw the vet early and they started doing tests to eliminate certain causes, ...they will have to keep me in the dog hospital overnight while they give me intervenous fluids and antibiotics. The nice vet lady said that should clear my system out and help me a lot. I am feeling really weak and tired.
