Arrival Story: We knew of a beagle breeder from a while ago called "Rays Beagles" in Manchester. We went up to visit and there was a huge kennel of beagle pups and mothers. A lot of them could climb the fences so we decided against those ones, then we saw one named Joy who had a young litter of pups. She was a tiny beagle and incredibly nice natured. All we knew is we wanted a male. At that age, it was hard to tell how any of them would turn out, so I just picked up the one with the most unique markings (Oz once had the white line go all the way down his head like a little river). He had a little green mark put in his ear so Ray knew which one we had chosen. Later in August we came and brought Oz home. The first day we had his (6 weeks old), I rolled a ball and he ran down, picked it up, brought it back and dropped it in my hand. That's when we knew he would make up for our non-retrieving golden retriever :-P
Bio: He is about 12" at the shoulder. One of his eyes if off centre, although funny looking, if Oz was to ever get lost we could distinguish him right away from his eyes. He also has a green dot in his ear from the breeder to mark that Oz was already sold to us, and to remember which one it was too.
When Oz was about 8 weeks old we took him on his first camping trip. During that trip we went on a 14 kilometre hike through the forest. The path was rough and there were plenty of hills, but Oz did not tire. At the very end, he started to slow down and wanted to be carried for short periods of time, but if he was held on the path for too long he would squirm his way out of our grips. He was very determined to finish this trail by himself.
Now, he is just as happy to sleep all day or hike all day. It seems that he never really tires from hiking anymore. You could throw the ball for hours and he's still ready for more. There actually have been many attempts to tire him out , but nothing can stop him from a good game of fetch.

1) I loooovvvveeeeeeee to play fetch! Mainly with tennis balls, but small bones are great as well ;)
2) When I do play fetch, I will ONLY go after the object that I was playing with furst. So don't try and trick me by throwing another ball cause I know which one is mine!
3) I'm apparently really "well behaved" fur a beagle. I've never chewed anything I wasn't supposed to, and I was house trained by 10 weeks old!
4) I have been fetching since I was 6 weeks old (furst day home, and the ball was as big as my head!)
5) *Is embarrassed* I am not allowed outside at night because I like to eat gross lawn items....
6) I was attacked by two coyotes at the same time last April. Thank dog I'm still alive!
7) When we go to the dog park, people often ask "What's wrong with your beagle, is he hurt?" Because the way I yelp when hunting Coby BOL
Yesterday morning I went for a walk in the woods with my brother Coby, and my mom. And as usual I was chasing Coby through the woods howling like a maniac. hehe. And then I started screaming, mom called me and Coby came back but I was still up there screaming.
She started yelling and running towards where my screaming was coming from. Then she saw 2 coyotes walk away from me as she approached. She thought I was dead. My tongue was hanging out of the side of my mouth, and I was unconcious by this point, and hardley breathing.
She walked back to the truck with me in her arms, then set me on the seat and drove home. She let Coby out and then went right back to the truck and drove me to the vets.
At the vets she was prepared to say "Just get this over with, put him out of his misery." Then I looked up at her. With that the vet said I would probably make it, and they took me into the room.
Right now I am covered in bandages, with 3 puncture marks on my neck. The collar I was wearing saved my life for the second time this year! The first time was because it has my phone number on it and I ran away when we were far from home. And this time, the coyotes couldn't bite thorugh the material to get at my neck!
