Best Tricks: Being adorable
Arrival Story: Goldie wound up in the Katrina shelter here. She arrived right before Fritzie did. She was in the cage next to Fritzie, so they were best buds! I fell in love with her sweet face. She is such a sweet girl who was having a rough time. Not only was she pregnant, but she also heartworm positive. I gladly fostered her (with hopes to adopt) so she didn't have to have her precious pups in the shelter. I am so happy to have her in my life. Update: It's official! I adopted Goldie on April 11, 2006. She's healthy and heartworm free!
Bio: Goldie had her pups on Oct 28th, 2005! She had six sweet puppies (four girls and two boys), but unfortunately, one of the girls only lived a few hours. She is buried between Bubba and Mighty Mouse. All the pups found great homes through the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana. (Boudreaux, happily stayed with us!) Goldie was treated for heartworms - that was a rough road, but we made it! Goldie has been spayed and is happy to spend her days playing with her pack and her nights snuggling with mom!

Rosie escaped the morning of 11-5-09 from her pet sitter's fenced backyard. She actually managed to unlatch the gate and presumably is headed for home. Her owner is one of my best friends and was scheduled to go out of town today hence the need for a pet sitter.
Rosie is an adult, female, German Shepherd with a very black colored face. AC saw her at North Star and Northwest Blvd. at 10:00 AM this morning but couldn't catch her. If you find her or think you've seen her please call 614-297-8380 or 614-787-1405. She is normally a friendly dog but was very scared when she was last sighted and took off running. Please let us know if you see her.
Rosie was wearing a pink gingham collar, she has all her tags on.

The HSNWLA needs our help! They are participating in a contest to try and win $10,000! I love this organization because they took me in after Hurricane Katrina and made sure that my unborn pups and I had a warm, dry, safe foster home, and eventually forever homes for all of us! Here's what they have to say about the contest:
Dear Members, Volunteers and Friends:
The Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana is racing to win a $10,000 donation as part of America’s Favorite Animal Shelter contest sponsored by Care2.com and Adopt-a-Pet.com.
$10,000 would make an incredible impact on the work we do to save animals. With a $10,000 donation, we could save many more animals, continue our low-cost spay/neuter program and rabies clinics, and provide much needed medical care for many of the animals we rescue.
But we need your help to win. PLEASE VOTE FOR US NOW! – it’s free, it’s easy and it would make a huge difference for our animals! The last day to vote is November 1, 2008.
GO HERE TO VOTE: http://www.care2.com/animalsheltercontest/71616/?refer=29331 .02.1222209511.9793
Once you vote, please ask your friends and family to vote for us, too. With your help we can spread the word about the great work we do and we can become America’s Favorite Animal Shelter!
Thank you in advance for your vote and for supporting our work.
P.S. There’s power in numbers. Please be sure to forward this information to people you know, asking them to vote for the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana. Your vote and your friends’ votes would increase our chances of winning this much-needed donation to better the care we provide for our beloved furry friends.
There's a link to the vote on my dogster page, so you don't have to worry about all that gibberish up there! (Mom's not too good with that stuff...) The HSNWLA is responsible for 4 out of the 6 current Goobersmooches being with mom!
Oh boy! Today I have been an official Goobersmooch for two whole years! It's such an important day for me, because when mommy signed those adoption papers, I knew that I was gonna stay here with her forever! I pretty much knew that anyway, but it was still nice for it to be official!
I love being here with Mom, Dad, my pup Boudreaux and all the other Goobersmooches (well maybe except Aliah...she chews on my ears too much)! I am one lucky girl to have found my momma!!!
Thank you to my friends Yoshi and Kazu, Sienna and Zuki and the Plott n' Pibble Pitties for the rosettes and gifts! You made me feel so very special!
