Haircut

On May 7th, I took Cuddles to get a haircut. She always looks so different afterwards, but still very cute. I hate leaving her at the groomers though. I hate leaving my dog with someone I don't know. They did a fantastic job though. So, if you are in the Hickory, NC area, definitely check out Club Canine. They are very friendly and do a great job!

It's Cuddles' Birthday!

Today Cuddles turns fourteen years old. She still acts like she is four or five. It's hard to believe we have been in each other's lives for so long, and at the same time, it's hard to imagine a time when we weren't together. Happy birthday Cuddles! Here's to a great day, and hopefully an even better year, and another fourteen years together!!

Lost, but now Found!

Well, today Cuddles, Notch, Tess, and I took our daily walk on the mountain, and Cuddles got out of my view. I believe she is starting to lose her hearing, which maybe why she didn't respond to my whistling. I looked all over for her and couldn't find her, so I brought Notch and Tess back to the house. I got in the truck, and drove around, but still no luck. I went back to the house and went back into the mountains calling. I was really scared, because she had her backpack on, and I was afraid she got caught on something. When I got back home, she was there with my boyfriend. Apparently one of the ladies down the road found her, and called the "home campanion" number (she's micro-chipped) and the lady brought her over. I was very grateful, and the lady was very nice. I just sat and hugged Cuddles like I never wanted to let her go. I was so scared that I lost her forever. I cried once everything was fine. Anyway, Cuddles is save with us, and I couldn't be happier.

Mom the Dog Whisperer?

Well, Mom has been reading Cesar's book, Cesar's Way...Which I'm pretty happy about...We have gone on a long walk everyday since she started reading it...She realized that to be balanced and happy we needed a good exercise walk every single day...Also, Notch and I are starting to accept her as the Pack Leader, which takes a huge burden off of our shoulders...Tess is up in the barn, because she's in heat, and she's definately not ready for puppies...Once she gets back, Notch and I will have to show her the calm-submissive energy which is our job...Today we were walking past the neighbor's horses, and one started to follow Mom, that's how good she is getting at calm-assertive energy. I'm proud of her and our pack...Well, I'm going to get a drink and take a nap. Later.

Memories

I was thinking about all the good times Cuddles and I have had together, when it was just me and her...No other dogs...We'd go for a walk down by the creek in the summer...I would write and she'd play in the water. Every once and a while coming to make sure that I was okay, and she'd kiss me, and go back into the water...In the winter, we'd spend hours running through the woods and laying in the snow, and just playing...Whenever I'd have a bad day at school, I would run to Cuddles' pen and hold her close, and tell her all my problems, and she would lick away my tears...She is a beautiful dog with a beautiful soul...I am so happy she is in my life, and when that dreaded day comes when she goes up to Heaven, I will smile, because I know that we had a wonderful life together...Luckly she is still part of my life and I will treasure her presense...I thank God for bringing Cuddles into my life, and letting her survivor parvo...She never ceases to amazed me, and always puts a smile on my face.

Tess the Mess

When Tess first came to the house, Cuddles was a bit afraid of the tiny creature coming toward her...Soon Tess started to get a bit bigger and Cuddles realized they could play with each other...Now Tess is getting bigger yet. She loves to run over to Cuddles and terrorize her. Cuddles tries to side step her, but sometimes she just can't get away. Though through this all, Cuddles is as sweet to Tess as possible. She doesn't even nip at her. She just does her signature little Cuddles dance, and gives Tess a look like "Silly little puppy, I don't have time for these games."
