My Best Friend Walks Always Walks on My Left

Last week I had the flu, the knock you off your feet, can't lift my head off a pillow flu. And Kyan, God bless him, layed with me for 6 days in a row. We jog/run 3 miles twice a day normally so how he wasn't insane with energy I do not know. But anyway, one day he got up and went upstairs leaving me passed out on the couch in our den downstairs(he NEVER walks away from me so even that was kind of strange). I heard him in the kitchen and not remembering what I could have left out up there I called him back downstairs. He returned immediately with a Poland Spring bottled water from the kitchen table in his mouth and dropped it on the couch next to me. I told him to stop taking things off the table and I put the water bottle on the floor next to me. Kyan went and picked up his empty water dish from the other side of the den and placed it on my stomach, grabbed the water bottle and nudged it into my hand. I almost fell off the couch I was so freaked out. He doesn't get bottled water (I'm not THAT nuts about my animals... close, but not quite!) but I guess he just knew there was no way to bring me the sink. I of course poured him some Poland Spring after that display and have since not found it easy to look at him the same way.

This is an AMAZING story!!! Like Lassie, only real :-)
Do you have any idea how exactly Kyan learned that if he brings you a bottle and his bowl, he'll get fresh water? I would love to learn how to do this!
Cheers!

Well he knows to bring his empty bowl when he needs water and to bring his food dish when it's dinner time. As far as getting Poland Spring... I can only assume that at some point I poured some of my water out for him to drink from the bottle (on a long walk maybe... but I don't remember). I also read once that dogs can smell and taste water sooo much better than we can so maybe he SMELLED the water through the bottle.
He's such a good, smart boy. I hear all the time that dogs don't have thought processes the way humans do but everyday I'm more and more doubtful when I see the things Kyan clearly comes up with on his own.
How's Lulu doing at training classes? I'm sure she'll get her CGC in no time!
