One week

My Dear Gwenie,

It has been a little over a week since you have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. I miss you every day, more and more. I cry on my way to work in the morning, on my way home, and I cry myself to sleep missing you at night. And now, things are even worse with the loss of Mallory, but I know that you are together, and that gives me a little peace.

I've spent the past two days in bed, because sleep is the only escape that I have from the pain and sadness of losing my two little girls in two weeks. I should have known that I would dream about you. I dreamt that I was at mom and dad's house, and that mom could hear you walking around the house, but she couldn't see you. Only I could see you, and you were lying next to me, as I was petting you. Your coat was shiny and soft, like it was when you were healthy. Your tumors were gone, and you were young again. I cried when I woke up, because you felt so far away from me again.

I haven't been to mom and dad's house since that day. I can't bear walking through the door without you on the other side of it. I guess that it's selfish of me, because mom and dad have to live without you there every day, and I know that their hearts are broken too. I'd like to think that it's like when I was away at school, and didn't see you for about a month at a time, and when I'd return, you would come down a few steps, peek through the railings to see if it was worth coming the WHOLE way down the steps, and then come down to see me and ask where I had been. Except for this time, nomatter how long I wait to come home, you won't be there at all. Home will never be the same without you.

I miss you so much Gwenie.

Love,
Elizabeth

Rest Peacefully My Sweet Little Sister

I have sad news to share with our friends. My beautiful little sister Gwenie was put to rest on Friday morning. She spent her last Thanksgiving with all of the people who loved her. I spent the night at my parent's house with Gwenie, and we watched Legally Blonde and ate pumpkin pie until she fell asleep. Gwenie has been a part of my life since I was eleven years old, and I never imagined life without her. Gwenie had a wonderful life, and she will be sadly missed. I will never forget my little sister and my childhood best friend.

Love,
Elizabeth

Strange...but true

So now that it's well into the summer, my family seems to think that it's time for me to go outside. Oh the humanity! Why should I go outside when I can sit indoors in the air conditioning? The humans even have a nice fan set up near my sleeping quarters, so why bother going outside? So the humans try to trick me into going out there. They call "BOOTS!", but I'm on to their false Boots alarms. My mom even puts me on the OTHER side of the screen door and allows me to sit there, staring at them until one of them gives in and lets me back inside...where my comfy chair and bed await. Not to mention, that when I go out there, there's this NEW dog next door, that barks and tries to play with me...like I'm actually into that. Although one may think that it's strange, I am truly an "indoor" dog.

Eating Foot

I am SO mad at my mom today. She took me to the vet (my sister sent her to avoid the wrath of this bad dog I know it-but I'm on to her giving me medicine and such). Apparently my practice of eating foot ("Stop eating foot!") has gotten the best of me and landed me a visit with the VET. He SHAVED my foot, gave me shots, and to top it off- CUT MY TOENAILS. The vet said that I'll be ok, I just have to take medicine and leave my foot alone. But how does one do that when foot is so irresistible?

Where is that Girl? Part Two

So, the other day something strange happened. I woke up in the morning ready for my am rounds to check on the security of the building (aka BOOTS patrolling) and my sister was nowhere to be found! Doesn't she know that in order for me to keep this yard BOOTS free, she needs to open up the door and let me out?! So, once again I find myself asking...where is that girl?

Later that day...
So, I found out where that girl has been all day. My mom told me that she got a job, and that she'd be home later in the day. AH WHATEVER! What about my job? I take my BOOTS chasing seriously you know. On the up side of things, evening power walks are up an amazing 85%...

Pooped on the Road

So now that my sister has graduated, she is trying to get back into shape. I have decided to help her by accompanying her on power walks (haha power walks) in the AM. So today, here I am haulin' tail (or lack there of...) up this hill, and it hit me. I had to poop. So I did what anydog would do-I pooped on the road. My sister was SO mad at me! Ah whatever! Who knew there were rules against poopin' on the road!? I do what I want!

SISTER Guarding???!!

So my sister has been VERY sick since Tuesday morning. Perhaps we'll call it karma (*ahem* surprise GROOMER appointment Monday). Well anyway, I took it upon myself as dog to guard her from all that is evil as she slept on the couch day after day, helpless in defence of BOOTS (who I chased away successfully today by the way) and The Tony Danza Show left running on the
t.v. while the remote was out of reach. After four long days of being sick, I think that she has learned her lesson about karma. It's a good thing that I was nearby this week to eat all of her uneaten food, and sleep on her stomach at night when she said that it made her feel even worse. Sister guarding was a tough job, but somebody had to do it.

Tricked!

Ah WHATEVER! My sister tricked me today. She sent me on a car trip with my brother-boy was I excited! Until...ah whatever! She had him take me to the GROOMER! I surely didn't see that one coming-he NEVER takes me to the groomer! So now I am shaved bald and feelin' oh so naked, because it's "Spring" so that girl thinks that I don't need my coat anymore. Next, she'll be trying to take my Easter pictures outside infront of BOOTS or something! I'm on to you...girl! Ah! I was tricked!

What the!!??? BOOTS!!!

So this morning my mom went downstairs to pull her car out and go to work. She left the garage door open because my sister was leaving soon too, and upon their return...
BOOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That darn BOOTS was on his way into the garage! I know this because I heard my sister suddenly yell "BOOTS!" when she got to her car(I was safely on the other side of the door so that I wouldn't get run over in the garage).
Do you believe the nerve of that darn BOOTS??!! Trying to move into MY garage???!! Not only does BOOTS sleep on my mom's car outside, and poop in my daddy's garden, but now he wants to live in my house!! Ah whatever! Boots, this is a message from me to you Bootsie:

Stay the he** out of my garage you darn Bootsie!!!!!!! You are lucky that my sister saw you in time or you would have been a pancake and I wouldn't have been able to chase you til the day I die! Ah whatever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Attention GBD Diary readers, a message from a bad dog's sister:
No DARN BOOTSIES were hurt in this diary entry.
