Dachshund Races!

Well, yesterday were the great Dachshund races. There were so many people and dogs around, I didn't know what to do! I met a lot of new friends. Mom was particularly interested in my wire-haired cousins, because she thinks I'll need a buddy one of these days. The races sounded like they were exciting, but there were soooo many people around the track that mom, and especially I, couldn't see a thing :( Guess we'll have to show up a lot earlier next year! Mom signed up to be on the mailing list.. she's thinking of entering me in some of the competitions next year. Heh.. if there was a 'cutest doxie' contest, I'm sure I'd win. ;)

Unfortunately, it was really hot out yesterday and there just wasn't a lot of shade to be had, so I was wiped out pretty early in the day. I was even playing like I usually do cuz I was so hot. So mom and I left early. She stopped along the way and got a big, ice cold bottle of water to share with me. When she was done drinking what she wanted out of it, she put it in my seat with me so I could snuggle up with it to keep me cool. Thanks mom!
