On October 23rd, 2008 at 6:30pm I came home to find that my little Edgar had been stolen from my home.

On January 23rd, 2009 at 6pm I got a call from the Brooklyn Center detective working on my case; she had Edgar.

I couldn't drive to the police station fast enough, I really couldn't believe that it could be him. I waited in the lobby of the station and then she walked through the door with my little baby boy in her arms.

His tail started wagging fiercely as soon as he saw me and as soon as I had him in my arms, he couldn't stop giving me his puppy kisses. (He's known for his crazy puppy kisses)

It WAS my boy. He remembered me. I couldn't stop crying with joy.

We drove home, he knew right where to sit. When we got there, he ran into the house and went straight for his "guy" - it was right where he had left it that morning before I left for work, that morning 3 long months ago, he knew right where it was. It was like he'd never left.

He's in good health. He's dirty (already gave him 1 bath, but he'll be getting another) and he wasn't brushed, so he has some mats but those will be easy enough to comb out. He put on a little weight, heaven only knows what they were feeding him. But all that matters is that he's home, safe and sound.

He's curled up on the couch with me now. I think he's tired out from chasing the cats around the house. (They're bummed that their vacation is over.. hehe) My house is complete again. It's just amazing. It is a true miracle that he is home and I owe it all to the good samaritain that called me 2 nights ago.

I left the man a voicemail when I got Edgar home, I told him that I would give him the reward, I just needed to know where to send it to. I was on the phone when he called back and left a message stating that it was reward enough to him just to know that Edgar was returned home.

The people that had Eggie said that he was given to them by a friend to take care of while that friend went to jail. Real stand up folks. They didn't have any of my other stuff, but the detective will let me know if they find anything else out. If anything does happen to these people, I will let you know.

For now, I am going to cuddle with my puppy. Tomorrow morning we will head straight for the vets office and get him micro-chipped; I won't lose him again.

Thanks again to everyone who has been following Edgar's story, who has sent their well wishes, prayers and throughts our way. Without you, these last 3 months would have been unbearable.
