I just wanted to take a second to write an entry about a phenomena called Black Dog Syndrome. Before Mom and Dad adopted me, they had no idea how many black dogs there were in the rescues and shelters. Mom had always loved black pups so much, so she had no idea. But for many reasons, such as that we can be difficult to photograph, and some people thinking we look scary, there’s a high percentage of the dogs in rescues and shelters that are black—especially larger black dogs. It’s been such a common issue that they are calling the dogs Black Pearls. They may be black, but they can sure brighten up your life!
