Fun and learning at "school"

I have been having sooo much fun at puppy school. These nine weeks have gone by so fast, and guess what! I'm already graduating next Wednesday!! Mom and Dad are so gosh darn proud of me. Dad always says I'm smart as a whip, athough I'm not sure how a whip is smart. Mom beams in each class because I do all my commands faster, and usually better than some of the other pups.

I've learned how to heel like a pro, and I stop and sit immediatly, if Mom or Dad stops. If they say 'down', then I lay on the ground beside them. If they say 'sit' (while I'm in a 'down'), then I sit beside them. If I'm told to stay, I stay on that spot, then they walk all over the place, and then when they say 'come', I come racing to them and sit directly infront of them. Wow, am I a good boy or what?! I even do 'down' and 'sit' from a distance. The one thing I'm being stubborn with, is 'stand', but I'm just giving them a little more challenge is all! I can't be too perfect ;oD I also know how to get back to heel position, from a 'front sit'. (I walk behind Mom or Dad, and then sit at their left-hand side.) When classes first started, we used a six foot lead, and now we're all training on a thirty foot lead. Oh, I forgot to mention, we are doing four minute 'down stays' and 'sit stays' at the end of that thirty foot lead. It's fun learning all these things, and having my family and teacher so proud of me! Hmmm.. What else can I brag about? Oh oh... I even stay on spot beside my Mom or Dad while the rest of the class takes turns weaving inbetween each pup and their person. Mom's supposed to say 'leave it' if I try to sniff the pup, but I just sit there and mind my business!

Mom and Dad want to put me in for a second round of classes, so I can learn more advanced things. Plus they know I just love the interaction.

I wonder if I'll get a little graduation hat?

Ok back to chewing my Kong!

Nigel
